Panasonic Sa-ak640 F61 Error
Justanswer!Josh C : On this pparticular unit, F61 usually means a fault in the power supply, or more commonly a shorted internal Amplifier ICJosh C : ?Josh C : have you checked all speaker wires to be sure they arent damaged or shorted out?Josh C : the first thing I would do is disconnect all speakers, then power the unit and see if you still get the F61 ErrorJACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : No but they are wired in the cieling space audio output ic panasonic and not suceptable to mechanical damageJACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : OK will tryJosh C : Well, I have seen rodents chew wiring more than once. If a mouse or some other creature gets in the attic space, it is very possible the wiring may have been chewed/shorted.JACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : Fault still thereJosh C : not good..JACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : So?Josh C : did you unplug the unit after disconnecting the speakers, and then plug it back in? If not, unplug the unit, wait 5 minutes and plug it back in - then power it up and see if there is an error code - I will wait.JACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : It has been unplugged since my fault still there messageJACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : No good - no betterJosh C : okJosh C : do you have any electronics experience, and the ability to solder?JACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : Can use a slodering Iron - not very good on electronicsJACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : Soldering - not a typestJosh C : ok, well in that case, I might suggest having the unit professionally repaired.. there are many very small solder joints involved here that could be easily bridgedJosh C : i can give you information on a low cost repair if youd rather repair the unit than replace it.JACUSTOMER-qzsky8ux- : I would rather repair - if that dosen't work I can still replace itJosh C : ok. one question - when you power the unit up, does the fan in the rear start spinning?JACUSTOMER-qzsky8u

Sydney, Australia hi there welcome to Electronics Point connected spliced audio composite with the speaker wiresClick to expand... not sure what you mean by that .... does it man that you connected them http://www.justanswer.com/electronics/5dj62-panasonic-sa-ht70-power-display-show-f61-tou-indentfy.html to speakers that were already and still connected to am amplifier that normally frrds those speakers? Then turning the amplifier on, have fed hi power from tha amplifier into the DVD player audio output ???? maybe take some pics or draw a diagram of what you did ... else it's a bit difficult to understand what you have done cheers Dave davenn, Apr 15, 2013 #2 http://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/panasonic-sa-ht70-dvd-player-sound.259060/ Advertisements billitary Joined: Apr 15, 2013 Messages: 17 Likes Received: 0 This using how it happened but that's what happened but now it won't stay turned off it automaticly turns it self back off billitary, Apr 15, 2013 #3 billitary Joined: Apr 15, 2013 Messages: 17 Likes Received: 0 billitary, Apr 15, 2013 #4 billitary Joined: Apr 15, 2013 Messages: 17 Likes Received: 0 oh and its showing a code of f61 befor it shuts back off billitary, Apr 15, 2013 #5 davenn Moderator Joined: Sep 5, 2009 Messages: 10,073 Likes Received: 1,032 Location: Sydney, Australia OK ... I presume the rows of blue and white terminals are speaker outputs ? those 2 white RCA connectors, that are connected by wire to the blue and white terminals, what sockets are they plugged into ?? IF the blue and white terminals are speaker outputs, then you should NEVER have something from them plugging back into the unit Putting hi power audio signal into the low power audio output of the DVD unit is garanteed to kill it Dave davenn, Apr 15, 2013 #6 billitary Joined: Apr 15, 2013 Messages: 17 Likes Received: 0 I

Talked to support, and they said that it probably needed a new power amp, ic501 (I think). Searched the web and was told to check the cooling fan on the back of the unit. It wasn't spinning. There was another small fan inside that would spin for 10 seconds or so, and would stop. After pressing the power button, I spun the fan with my finger (as best as i could) and the unit powered on, until I stopped spinning. I took it out, cleaned it, and the unit worked fine. A new power amp unit is $95, this cost me nothing, but even if I needed a new fan, it has to be less than $5. Good luck.
