Reply Re: Panasonic DVD home theatre SA-HT940 error code F61 Susan Posted Sep 01, 2009 Hey, I have had the same problem and I took the fan off and left the machine unplugged for about three minutes. I plugged it back in and turned it on and low and behold it came on. Once the fan is clean you must unplug and it seems to reset or something. Good luck to all, I knwo it is frustrating. Sound like we all been going through the same thing with this error, like many of you I used to blow it and have the dust blow in my face too! lol, then I used to vacuum it and then it worked. after a while I had to open it up, take out the side fan and back fan and clean them up and then the error would go, a couple of months ago that fix no longer worked, had to replace the side fan which only cost £2 and it came from china, and then the back fan would no longer move no matter how much I cleaned it, I thought I would have to replace it but I didn't thanks to Bill's post, I peeled of the sticker and put a quick spray of WD40 it then started spinning freely, I now have a working system again. Based on all the complaints on line, I hope that you have resolved this problem. Share this conversation Expert: Rahul P. replied7 years ago. Panasonic error code F61 is for an output /power problem. Most likely it will need the output ic replaced. But check that the fan(s) are running a bad or stopped fan will also cause F61. So the fan needs to be replaced. My system had the same problem and the fan was making a terrible noise. I had this repaired and the system is as good as new. It is better that you take it to the technician for the repeair.Still then i am giving you little help. Remove the cover and use an air duster on the fan. This may not be enough so if you must, remove the fan (two screws + 2 clips) and pop it out of its housing. Dust the blades off and gently pull the fan away from its center as if you were trying to separate the two. There should be about a 2 or 3 mm gap there now. Dust that out and I even sprayed some lube (WD40) in for good measure. Put it all back together and make sure the fan spins and is quiet when you power up your system. Or else that is if your fan is working fine then your iC needs to be replaced and it is best left to a technician and Panasonic is the only supplier that I know has the part. It would suerly solve your problem. It would be kind enough of you to click ACCEPT. Regards.
