Check if they are, and remove if necessary.-------------------------------------D

I have a domain, and I was able to connect the Visual Studio Express remotely up to it, add some folders and create a simple default page that pulled some data from SQL Server. All of that worked fine. The next http://forums.asp.net/t/1049019.aspx?I+m+getting+Server+Error+Error+2+Opening+Registry+key+ time I tried to open that web site from the remote location, I'm getting error messages telling me "Server Error: error 2 opening registry key "SOFTWARE\Microsoft\shared tools\Web Server Extensions\Ports\Port 80"" I've follwed some tips on the web that had me change the Regedt32 permissions - and that didn't work. Another told me to uninstall Front page extensions, which I wasn't able to find themagain to re-install - but I'm still getting the same message. I am able to copy files up (if I uninstall FrontPage extensions from the remote domain) and have them work - so the site seems to be working. I would like to either work on it directly, or be able to copy from the client up to the site (which gives me the same message) Does anyone have any advice on how to do this? Thanks in advance. If so, the registry frontpage error error is on the server at web.com and you should ask your host for help. -- Ron Symonds - Microsoft MVP (Expression) Reply only to group - emails will be deleted unread. http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp "jim-in-Chattanooga" <> wrote in message news:... > I get this message when trying to open a previously used site > I'm using FP 2003 > > The ... says something about frontpage error 2 a registry key at > SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shared Tools/Web Server Extensions/Ports/Port 80 > > On MY machine, there is NO /Web server Extensions/... > > The site is hosted at Web.Com > > I've used this computer and this program and this host for over 2 years > without this error. I wrote web.com and they replied: "We were able to successfully install Frontpage Server Extensions on your account. Your Frontpage access should be working now without any errors." They didn't bother to say why, in the past week or so, they had removed the FP server extensions. But, anyway, all is working now.
