I have been able to do this successfully in the past. Last week I made an adjustment to an existing form that has had a domino effect on me and put me back to square one?actually past that, I am in negative territory now. Here is what I have:-FrontPage 2002-IIS running on a Server 2003 machine (SP1)-FrontPage 2002 extensions are installed and configured-SMTP service running on same server, and configured-Site is being published via FP and not FTP site.-all proper permissions have been set on both the Web properties in IIS as well as the home folders on the server. -At this point in is a super basic form?a single text box on a page setup to email me.Here is what is going on:I fill out the form, hit submit and get ?FrontPage Error. Page web form, one of the following messages are displayed: FrontPage Error. User: frontpage error Please report details to this site's webmaster. Webmaster: Please see the server's application event log for more details. Resolution The exact source of the errors can be frontpage error log found in C:\frontpg.log that doesn’t exist on server by default. This file is created upon any errors by the IIS user IUSR_ftpuser that doesn’t have write permission to the root of the system drive on Plesk servers. Therefore server administrator should create this file manually and grant Modify+Read+Read&Execute+Write permissions to psacln group. All IUSR_ users on Plesk server are included in this group. Note: We strongly recommend removing this file after the problem is fixed. Loading... Powered by Redmine
of difficulty trying to figure out traffic statistics from the server log files. First of all, I understand that the log file is supposed to be found in the _vti_log directory, but there is nothing there. Is there supposed to be something there? How do I enable logging? I also don't have Frontpage on my computer...so am I at a loss? Thanks in advance for any help! Axe Genius Posts: 5735Loc: Sub-level 28 3+ Months Ago Where your hosting company stores its log files is all really based on the individual. You would have to ask them to find out where/if you can access your Access & Error log files. dr nick Proficient Posts: 263Loc: Frankfurt 3+ Months Ago Hi Axe, thanks for the response. I'm afraid that's probably going to have to be the case...I just don't have contact details for the hosting provider at hand, and I wanted to be sure it wasn't something that I could do on my side. ______________________ Kinderzimmer Kinderbetten Axe Genius Posts: 5735Loc: Sub-level 28 3+ Months Ago Well, if you've been provided with Cpanel, often there are logs available through that interface, and sometmies they're automatically created somewhere within your home directory, which you should be able to access via FTP. So, you can try looking there first if you can't get hold of your host straight away. musik Legend Posts: 6890Loc: up a tree 3+ Months Ago usually with most standard hosting there is a control panel you use to access statistical info. it doesnt matter whether they used frontpage or not it shouldnt make a difference Page 1 of 1To Reply to this topic you need to LOGIN or REGISTER.
