Garmin Mydashboard Software Installation Error

Garmin Express Map Update Hangs

The Garmin site never recognized that the latest Garmin Communicator module was already installed. I then used Internet Expplorer to log into MyGarmin. When update garmin express I went to the maps update section, I was told that a map update failed and instructed to double-click on the file to start the installation process. However, I never found the bloody file on my computer. I was downloading garmin maps to microsd card also offered the choice to entirely remove Garmin Express from my computer. I did so and logged back into MyDashboard. When I attempted to re-download the maps I was again told to install Garmin Express. I did so and I was then informed that it installed correctly. However, the program is now so sluggish that it does not recognize my unit when plugged-in and won't let me register it. What the hell is going on with your map update

Once I removed Garmen Express, my computer connected. I imagine that other users will have the same problem. Looks like garmen has a big software problem. thought in the past I was able to use Garmin Express with my 3490 but I got this error saying I had to use Garmin Map Updater. Is this correct? I remember updating on myGarmin.com with Communicator I believe awhile ago. How many utility programs has Garmin pushed on us now? I don't update all that often so it's a bit confusing. Anyway, is this correct that I can't use Express with the 3490? Also, when I ran Garmin Map Updater, it says 2015.40 is up to date. It maybe more likely that your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements for the GE software to operate properly. Garmin Express will not work with XP. That's the only reason I can think of for you being directed to GarminMapUpdater. All nuvis and pretty much all Garmin devices should be able to use Garmin Ex
