Once the memory of the device is full, it can no longer continue calculating and will display one of the above error messages. To best resolve this issue, break the route into two or more smaller routes.For example, if you are entering a cross-country trip, create a route for each day of travel instead of plotting in one long, continuous route.If the route is already fairly short and the device should have sufficient memory to calculate it in its entirety, these messages may appear due to out-of-date software. I just got a Garmin V, and changed the preferences to Garmin (other), V was not listed, but keep getting an error message when trying to upload to the garmin express gps.
