My ex was trying to convert me to Linux and installed Ubuntu on my laptop + partitioned it. He never finished it and he's not around now. So I thought (here's where my in experience comes in!) how hard can it be to just remove the partition! Well using his partition wizard I was able to delete the partition easy enough, and thought it would just flip back to auto loading windows (I've had a grub to use for the past I don't know how many months and it auto loaded Ubuntu after about 15 secs if I didn't select the one which would load windows). How wrong was I (I see you shake your head!) Now I get the following error on screen GRUB Loading Stage 1.5. GRUB Loading, please wait... Error 22 I've searched for the error and fo

Posts: 105 Grub Error 22 [SOLVED] Okay. So i was installing Arch linux for a friend. And not being very "expert" at it myself i now end up with an error 22 boot https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=71035 issue. I noticed i had forgotten to change default set for grub configs, http://superuser.com/questions/433740/grub-loading-please-wait-error-22 so i went back and set that hd0,2 for the windows partition on sda2 and hd0,3 for sda3 which is carrying the arch linux (apparently). Well..same error... Anywho..im still fairly new myself glad i got my own working fine xD. SO were kinda learning it along, don't know where i went grub loading wrong here, any help or suggestions appreciated.EDIT: THanks to lucke i figured out my ignorant problems. Thanks again ev1 . As far as Irecall, 'doze has grub loading error to occupy hd0,0, as evinced in the menu.lst ( rootnoverify (hd0,0) ).Deej Offline #3 2009-04-27 15:13:06 JK3mp Member Registered: 2009-03-25 Posts: 105 Re: Grub Error 22 [SOLVED] Ahhh..i must've got mixed up. My only labels, are sda -----sda1 <--some windows default something idk wtf it is, lol. only like 4mb or somethin-------sda2 <----NTFS volume (windows)-------sda3 <-----Linux Volume , and i thought it was based off there label, like hda1, is hd0,1 , and hda2, hd0,2 etc. So would the NTFS volume windows need to be set as (hd0,1) in the grub config? I tried several times, but thus far all i get is error 22 still. Since i dont want the "unknown" in the boot menu, i skip it in grub is that the issue ? i put sda2 as (0,2) and sda3 as (hd0,3) . Error 22 up vote 1 down vote favorite Yesterday I got a problem which I posted here. Trying to solve it, I installed slitaz live CD to desktop. After that I tried to use boot other live CD's (Ubuntu, Tiny core) but they didn't boot. So I deleted the the slitaz partition through gparted(or something like that) and restarted. After that I am seeing this error message:` GRUB Loading stage 1.5. Starting cmain() ... GRUB loading, please wait...
