Humax Hard Drive Recorder Problems

disk drive error' on all my recordings effectively rendering my 9200T useless. I've seen a few threads where people mentioned similar problems. Humax support suggested I reformat the HDD as getting the problem fixed back at base could take up to 3 weeks (gulp!). Does anyone have any experience of a reformat successfully curing the 'HDD error' problem or should I just get humax hdr-1000s hard drive upgrade the PVR back to Humax directly? Thanks ... Tom A format on the hummy starts a new file table as far as I know. You could connect the disk to your computer and do a full format. I've done that in the past - but only because it was connected and I had just taken a whole load of recordings I needed off it. What might be
'13Posts: 3offline Hi, Well I've had the HDR100s for a couple of months after 13 years with Sky and on the whole I'm finding it humax support pretty stable, easy to use and the picture is better than Sky humax pvr-9200t HD. But on Friday evening I turned the box on, it started up and then displayed a hard drive humax hdr-1100s not correctly formatted message, after a couple of seconds it went directly to the format drive screen. I cancelled out of the screen and restarted the box but all recorded programs http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=468575 had disappeared (thankfully nothing important). I formatted the drive and have recorded loads of rubbish over the weekend to test the machine out and it looks to be working fine again but I am apprehensive about it reoccurring in the future. Anyone else had a similar experience? Mon 7 Jan 2013 15:43:08 #4 | Binary_Ssleuth new memberJoined: Jan '13Posts: 2offline Just switched my HDR1000s on this evening and it is displaying an error message which says, in broken English and badly punctuated: "! The hard disk drive. has not been formatted properly. to record programmes, press OK to go the storage menu and format the hard disk drive." The only way to get the box to do anything is to click okay, which I did. And it's formatted the hard disk and errased all my recordings. I am furious. Have others experienced this? I've seen a few posts on another forum complaining about the same
Hi i'm new here and decided to join having had no replies from HUMAX as yet. I bought my HUMAX Foxsat HDR about 18 months ago and https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/hdd-not-available-check-hdd have had no worries till about 8 days ago when I encountered a problem with the HDD. After booting up and showing a TV station, an error message appeared on screen It said 'HDD not available Check HDD' When I went through SYSTEM to check I noticed that the HDD options was greyed out and I could not scroll down and click on it. Grateful for hard drive any advice before I take it for repair Cheers Nic Sun 13 Jan 2013 18:07:42 #1 | dino special memberJoined: Dec '11Posts: 131offline Nic, Not much you can do yourself without opening the machine up. Most likely the disk has failed - it might just be a cable loose or a power problem - unlikely though. Worst case is a problem on the HDR's internal board, humax hard drive though they are rarely, if ever, reported. If you've got a two year warranty, then that's the way to go. Otherwise you can replace the disk yourself. Easy enough job. There's plenty of posts on how to do it and recommendations for replacement disks. Dino. I bought a new HDD, installed it, formatted it and all appeared fine - I could record, pause and rewind TV etc., but after setting up a few recordings for the evening I checked the next day and the same 'HDD not available' message had re-appeared. Sent the HDD back for replacement but the same thing has happened with the new disc. It installs and formats ok and all looks well until the next day - all I can think of is that something happens to the HDD when the unit goes into standby overnight and is restarted the n
