Hey http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/no-hard-disk-is-detected guys: I need some help. I just had a new custom PC built and I was setting up BIOS and ran into some trouble. Whenever I reboot the computer, I get this: Adapter 1 disk information No hard disk is detected! and then it tells me that NTLDR is missing and to press ctrl+alt+del to restart. However when I go into bios setup utility, under main is clearly says Sata 2 Hitachi HDP725050G, which is a detected IDE device (Hard Disk). Can anybody help me out? Thanks. Reports: hard drive · Posted 7 years ago Top jd2066 Posts: 3814 This post has been reported. It's possible the system is refering to one SATA connection as adapter 1 disk and another SATA connection as adapter 2 disk. So with nothing connected to the adapter 1 disk, the BIOS wants to tell you that. And the other hard drive is connected to adapter 2 disk and it's boot loader it's messed up so that error is displayed. The way to fix the first error would be to go into no boot device the BIOS and set the adapter 1 disk to none so the warning doesn't appear. The way to fix the second error would be to fix the boot loader some how (Varies depending on OS version) or reinstall Windows. When I go into BIOS, the Atapi cd-rom is assigned to Sata 1, while the Hard Disk is on Sata 2. Wouldn't this mean that something is connected to the adapter 1 disk? I cannot fix the second error because I have never installed windows yet. The entire computer and all of its parts are brand new. Thanks, Alex Reports: · Posted 7 years ago Top jd2066 Posts: 3814 This post has been reported. I guess that would mean something was connected. I'm not sure about that error now. With the drive being brand new that makes the NTLDR error even more odd. A blank drive can't have that error. Did you have the Windows install disc inserted? Reports: · Posted 7 years ago Top axlvtt Posts: 3 This post has been reported. Hello jd2066: Sorry for the late reply. I decided to just stick my windows vista cd in the cdrom just to see what happens, and it looks like it installed windows successfully, meaning it does detect the HDD just fine. I don't know why during startup, it tells me that no HDD is detected. Thanks for taking your time in helping me out :) Reports: · Po
