Weird part is, it boots just hard drive fine if I unplug the drives in RAID array, and continues to work fine if I plug them in while Windows is running. The array rebuilds itself, but is otherwise normal (data accessible, etc.). If I reboot with all drives plugged in the boot process hangs after POST, with the error message "boot drive not found". If I try to boot from the Windows disk to repair, I get a BSOD once the loading process is finished. If raid boot error I turn the PC off, unplug the RAID 1 array and reboot, the system boots right into windows. I don't know why this problem suddenly appeared (no new installs, etc.), or how to fix it. Any ideas? Mar 24, 2009 #1 kimsland Ex-TechSpotter Posts: 14,524 Malware or CheckDisk ? Possibly? Mar 24, 2009 #2 sakhurst TS Rookie Topic Starter Neither. Chkdsk reports no problems with any of the three disks. No Malware either. The one development is the error message has changed when one or both of the RAID array disks are plugged in during boot. This also happens if I unplug all HDs and only try to boot from the CD Only when I pull out the Windows CD, disconnect the RAID array and boot from the single drive does Windows boot

I'm stumped with my new build. I have a samsung 256 ssd and 4 1tb sea gate hdd and the p9xpro79 mobo. I loaded windows 7 64 bit on the ssd then I went back to the bios and changed the sata mode to RAID and then windows started blue screening briefly and restarting. As soon as I revert the sata mode it works fine. how can I boot off my ssd and have a raid 5 on my hdd with the intel controller the mobo comes with. Or reinstall with SATA set to RAID. The RAID volume has to be GPT formatted (>2TB). Score 0 letthewriterswrite 7 February 2013 02:27:45 Thanks alexoiu. That fix didn't work and trying to reinstall windows is bringing up an error that drivers are missing (this is with the sata set in RAID). Could there be an error in the BIOS or the intel driver? Another important thing is that the intel utility in windows is having an error when I try running it...
