The old cable had been pulled (probs by one of my kids) thus separating the cable from the connector plate which goes into the DVD player. I now have a new HDMI cable but I ray hdcp error cannot get a picture. Both the TV and player would otherwise seem to be working fine. I took the player to local electronic repair shop but the owner, and using his own HDMI cable, was also unable to get a picture. I took the player home and used the 'reset picture' code as suggested in the troubleshooting section of the player guide. I then got a 'HDCP Err' message. I understand that there is probably a problem with the 'digital handshake' between the player and the TV. I've no idea why as they had both worked perfectly well before. Any ideas how I might rectify this problem? Sponsored Links 12-28-12,03:26 PM #2 GregH Super Moderator Join Date Jan 2001 State CANADA Posts 9,265 Welcome to our forums!
