That said the most common especially when changing the belt or carriage assembly is not adjusting the carriage height with the special tool provided when you get a new carriage. Unless you adjusted hp designjet 1050c the height it is very difficult to diagnose your issue with the number of the path error and not knowing if the height is correct or not. There are many causes such as and not limited to, obstructions, not cleaning the crud off the motor pully when replacing the belt, worn tube assembly rubbing on the top frame, any bent piece in the carriage path which obstructs with the movement, lack of lubrication, etc etc. The best test you can do is with the power off open the cleaner door on the right and pull out the cleaners. Now move the carriage assembly out and then using the belt move the carriage assembly back and forth over the complete width and see if you can spot and tight spots or areas where you have to use more pressure to get it to move. by dmzcompute on May 1, 2007 at 8:09pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I use an HP 1050C and I am having a similar problem. I get a "Clear Printhead Path (2) " error when I turn on the printer. The printhead shoots back and forth...the motor looks functional. One thing I noticed is that now the digital screen is surging in brightness every once in a while....not sure if this is related. Anyone
