Troubleshooting steps If any of the troubleshooting steps listed below solve the problem, attempt to verify printer functionality by printing several internal prints. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced. NOTE: If the printer has had service recently or the printer is new, continue with Steps 1-11 directly below. If no service has been performed and printer was working normally before the error occurred, continue with the section Steps for printer working normally prior to error listed below. Steps for new or recently serviced printer Turn the printer off, then on, to verify the error (if no error, attempt to verify functionality). If the error appears, turn the printer off and disconnect the power cable from the printer. Disconnect the Trailing cable (refer to pg. 8-39 of the Service Manual). If you did not seat it properly when you put it back together, you blew the fuse. the fuse is at the top of the ops board, on the right side, in the back. Check the fuse, if it is blown, reseat the cables and change the fuse. The best arguement against democracy is a 5 minute conversation with the average voter... Winston Churchill. Computer Printers How to Repair the HP Plotter Error 0B0006 How to Repair the HP Plotter Error 0B0006 By Jessica Jewell eHow Contributor Jessica Jewell Follow Pin Share Tweet Share Email Save The DesignJet 1050 and 1055CM are Hewlett-Packard-manufactured plotter printers used in high-end engineering, architectural, geographical and design markets. Though the printers are designed for medium plot-printing volumes (between 10 and 30 per day), these HP plotters do occasionally have problems and produce error codes. The Error Code 0B0006 indicates that there is a problem with either the trailing cable or the electronics module, either of which needs to be fixed before you can use the plotter again. Things You'll Need Trailing cable Main logic board Memory (if applicable) Firmware (if applicable) Hard disk drive (if applicable) Turn the HP plotter off before trying to fix the error. Make sure that the trailing cable is plugged in correctly and firmly. If you are unsure of where the trailing cable is located, consult the HP DesignJet 1050 or 1055CM owner's manual (see the 1050C Owner's Manual in the Resources section, page 259). Connect a new trailing cable to the carriage and electronics module, but do not remove the first one. There will be one available slot next to the first trailing cable to insert a second one. Lay it down flat and make sure that it is completely straight and smooth (no bubbles) before inserting its ends into the electronics module connector. Turn the plotter back on. If the error is gone, turn the printer off again and remove the old trailing cable, leaving the new cable in place. If the error is still present, continue to Step 4. Contact Hewlett-Packard or a licensed HP reseller and request a new main logic board. You will need to entirely replace the old logic board with a new one. If your plotter is a DesignJet 1050C model (not Plus), you will also have to replace the memory, firmware and hard disk drive. In order to open a support case with HP, you must call the phone number that was given to you when you purchased the plotter or submit a support case form on the HP Support Case Manager website (see Resources). Tips & Warnings Use caution when removing or connecting the trailing cable to the electronics module. If done incorrectly, you could burn the electronics module's fuse.
