try again later. Uploaded on Mar 1, 2011Basic maintenance to overcome the 'Check printhead path' error message on the DesignJet 1050 & 1055 series. If the fault persists following this you are likely to require an engineering visit / parts replacement.Common failed parts causing this error are: Carriage belt, service station RIDS assembly (Tubes) or encoder strip. For sales & support visit:http://www.hpplotter.co.ukThis video shows a Designjet 1050c with a printhead switch power off check printhead path 1 path error to check and resolve. It could be a variety of things i.e. a worn carriage belt, service station not moving out of the way correctly but the most common cause is the basic one of dirty rails. The chrome rails have a thin film of oil on them which becomes dirty after a while. First the machine is switched off (to avoid damage to the Designjet) before opening up the printhead cover. The service station is pulled forward to enable you to move the carriage out of the way. The top window is opened and using a Roadrunner kit or a lint free cloth with a few drops of oil added, we clean and lubricate the slide rails by running the applicator along the chrome rails front and rear. We then check to see how the carriage is running. When it's running fairly freely close up the machine, switch on and reboot, and the problem should be resolved. This process covers all Designjet 1050c Series (including 1050c plus/1055cm/1055cm plus) Category Science & Technology License Standard YouTube License Show more Show less Loading...
