Follow the steps listed below to determine the actual cause of the error and to replace the necessary parts.Parts required hp designjet (part numbers are subject to change) Part description 5000 Series Models - C6090A/V, C6091A/V, C6095A/V, C6096A/V 5500 Series Models - Q1251A/V, Q1252A/V, Q1253A/V, Q1254A/V Air Pressurization System (Required) C6090-60084 / Q1251-60258 C6090-60084 / Q1251-60258 HDD Controller (Required) C6090-60318 C6090-60318 Main PCA (Required) C6090-60317 Q1251-60030 / Q1251-60269 NOTE: If Removal and Installation instructions are needed for reference during any repairs performed, refer hp designjet 5500 to the 5000 and 5500 Series Service Manual available on the Computer Care Web site for review or download.Troubleshooting stepsIf parts are replaced or fixed in any of the steps listed below, attempt to verify printer functionality by turning the printer on and printing internal test prints. If functionality is verified, no additional parts should be replaced. Turn the printer off, using the main power switch located on the back of the printer. After 10 -15 seconds, turn the main power switch on. If no error appears, attempt to verify printer functionality. If the error re-appears, continue with the remaining steps. Turn the printer off and check that the cable from the Ink Supply Station (ISS) PCA to the Ink Supply Station is correctly connected (refer to pages 8-91 of the service manual). If cable is reconnected, turn the printer on and attempt to verify functionality. WARNING: To prevent possible injury, always remove the power cable from the back of the printer before connecting/disconnecting any internal printer cables or performing any repairs. Series Plotter System Error Codes Introduction NOTE Before troubleshooting System Errors, if possible, repeat the procedure performed when the error was reported. NOTE When reporting the System Error Code, make sure that you supply the full Error Code and the firmware version (displayed during the initialization process when powering ON the Printer or available in the User's Printer Setup Utilities Statistics menu). The following pages contain a list of System Error Codes and their respective descriptions and recommended corrective actions. Only try one recommended action at a time and check if the Error Code has disappeared. System Error Codes consist of two groups of alphanumerics: [XXXXXX]-[YYYYZZZZ] The first set of 6 alphanumeric characters consists of the System Error and the second set of 8 digits, when present, refer to the internal error data. NOTE If the YYYY digits in the second set of 8 characters are zero [0000ZZZZ], this indicates a LAN Card System Error. The last four digits [ZZZZ] of the Error Code must be reported to the vendor support organization: For HP JetDirect Cards, this error code must be reported to the iIPS Division Support. For 3rd party LAN Cards, the HP support organization should communicate to the customer that they should address it through the 3rd party vendor support structure. Follow up: If you have an error code which is not documented in this Service Manual or you have an error which you cannot resolve, then report the error to the HP Response Center or the nearest HP Support Office. When reporting the error, have the following information ready: Which firmware revision the Printer is using. The complete error number. Which software application the customer is using (name, version, etc.). Continuable and Non-Continuable Error Codes Some of the Error Codes are continuable, which means you can press Enter on the front-panel and continue working with the Printer. Non-Continuable Error Codes do not allow you to continue working with the Printer, in this case power the Printer OFF and ON again and see if the System Error disappears.
