Master 1,088 Answers Re: 81.0180 EIO 1 error On the back of the printer where the network cable is plugged in, in http://www.fixya.com/support/t10753560-81_0180_eio_1_error your case it is EIO slot 1.The problem could be the slot(EIO 1) or the JetDirect card that is plugged into that slot.Power down and loosen the two screws on the JetDirect card and reseat it. Power up and try using the printer. If the error persists, power down and remove the JetDirect and plug it into EIO 2.There are two screws that hold the EIO cover on. Power up and try the printer. If it works, take the two screws and the cover and use it to cover EIO 1. And you are good to go. If it fails again with a 81.02, the JetDirect may need changing Posted on Nov 02, 2011 Helpful 7 Not Helpful 1 Comment Flag Joseph Sliker Nov 09, 2015 Here I've been thinking the 615n card on my 4600 was getting flakey. I've unmounted and reseated it several times in the same slot, (even baked the card a couple times). This solution may have done the trick...maybe I wore out a contact on slot 1 ! when I sent a large file to the printer. It was fixed when I turned off and unplugged the printer. Now, however, the message appears every time http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/46054 I start the printer after initialization. I'm wondering if it could be fixed by more RAM. I hate to spend $ on fixing this printer as it is quite old. It has done a great job though and I hate to eject it into the environment until I have tried to fix it myself.K Respond to this 0 It's indicating that the JetDirect card has failed.Power off, remove card, power hp error on and test printer. What model JetDirect is installed?Sometimes a cold reset will get the JetDirect to work for a while. A cold reset will also wipe out all the JetDirect settings. by Stephen on Mar 17, 2007 at 5:19am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 what model jet direct is it? 615n's are know to fail. The 610n or the 620n are 10 times more reliable but the hp error 83.0180 610n runs about $199.00 and the 620n runs about $299. The difference between the 2 cards is speed but your only talking micro seconds. Try www.beckscrs.com. If they don't have them listed they can get them. I got 7 for assorted customers last week.I sell 620N's on exchange for about what you are quoting for a 610N. You can trade in a 600N, 605N, or 610N on a 620N.Moe gets first shot at selling to posters, you can use the request item form to ask for a part not listed:http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/specials/requestOr you can email Moe, he gets lots of emails so make sure the subject line tells him that you need a price for a part.Maybe something like:JetDirect Price Quote Neededhttp://www.fixyourownprinter.com/members/directory/moe by Stephen on Mar 17, 2007 at 12:45pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP Color LaserJet 4500N Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc.
