After moving 286GB suddenly I got that error message( See Attachment ). FYI I mounted /dev/sda1 partition after starting moving process. May be this is the cause of the error. I have noticed another thing, If I clicked on Retry/Cancel/Ignore button on the error message, progress bar of the moving process grows 0.01GB. That means to finish this process I have to click more thousands of clicks!! I also worried about my files. So, Is there any way to safely complete this process

I don't know what to do! Also, what formatting is the drive currently?. Has the drive worked previously, how was it made to its current state etc (installation, formatting....). –Wilf Nov 28 '13 at 22:41 well I installed lubuntu yesterday with it so I guess it's supposed to work. its in fat32 ad was created with universal boot installer. I also just tried to format it with fdisk : doesnt work. THe only mistake I maybe made wast try to alt+del everything in the usb drive (first think I tried, some files got actually deleted). It previously had a Live version of Ubuntu 14.04 on it. I tried formatting it a couple of times through different techniques on GParted and the Disks Utility. None of them worked properly Gparted would tell me that a Partition Table was required. When I tried creating a partition table, it input/output error during would give me a I/O error. When I tried the Discs utility, I would get a 'No Media Found' error. I tried using the Ignore option on GParted tool. Now whenever I start GParted, I get a error popup saying Input/output error during read on /dev/sdc The Window is titled "Libparted Bug Found!" sdc is the USB drive.
