Also, remove any add-in cards that are not required to get video. Lastly, disconnect the hard drives(s) from the motherboard. This usually indicates a failure of a logic board on one of the hard drives. Enter the BIOS setup and verify that all attached storage devices are properly detected and identified, and that the proper devices and correct sequence is set in the boot device priority section. Also check intel motherboard bios both power and data cable connections for the drives and ensure they are fully seated on both ends. I have had older HP computers exhibit this symptom ("DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER") when anything USB is plugged in at startup, for some reason the BIOS would not have the HDD spin up when anything USB was plugged in, however, USB stuff (printers, flash drives) worked once you plugged it in when the OS was running. Do you hear that it is somewhat quiet inside the comp when your comp is at the boot disk message? Can you boot off of a Linux Live CD (go to ubuntu.com to get an ISO of Ubuntu you can use) and see the HDD and its data?Hello!
