Everything seems to be working; fans, harddrive, led's, etc... I am receiving a memory error on the motherboard via the LED_D1 light. LED_D1 light is on LED_D2 light is off, in motherboard manual this is deemed a memory error. I am not receiving any beeps from the motherboard speaker. I have tried the RAM one at a time, two at a time, and switched them. Is there anything i could have missed when plugging power and wires in that could cause this error? I have included links to the RAM and Motherboard i purchased. As far as i can tell they are compatible. TA790XB A2+ says DDR2 1066 Ram is compatible, the RAM i purchased is GSKILL DDR2 1066 PC2 8500. Am i correct, are they compatible? I am trying to discover problem quickly, if it is the motherboard or RAM i need to return it to NewEgg soon. I am doing the breadboarding now. All i have connected is the CPU and the HSF. When i turn it on without RAM i get one long beep that doesnt stop. When i add one piece of RAM it doesnt beep at all. On my motherboard the LED_D1 light comes on and the LED_D2 light doesnt. I dont get a single beep telling me that it posted. I have two new power supplies and they both behave the same. What do i do now? What does this mean? Is the motherboard DOA? Thanks! m 0 l Related resources Memory not installed error when dual-linked - Forum Intel DP67BG Error Code 27 - Forum Bad memory or m

The memory tried is; 1x4GB 1333 Kingston HyperX DDR3 RAM (New and Sealed) 2x4GB Team Elite 1066 DDR3 RAM (New and Sealed) I have tried multiple configurations and seating layouts and still no luck. I also have a GT520 graphics card on board as I dislike in-built graphics in most cases and had http://superuser.com/questions/426018/motherboard-issue-3-beep-bios-memory-error-despite-new-ram it at hand (also new and sealed). The only used parts are the CPU, which worked in my previous tower and was directly taken from the PC into the new set-up and the CPU Fan which will be replaced with a new fan in the foreseeable future once this is resolved. I've run out of ideas myself and any help is appreciated. memory bios intel ddr3 share|improve this question asked May 18 '12 at 11:56 Glenn 1 1 What CPU are you using exactly? So you know none of the support CPU's even have support for Intel HD Graphics so you have no choice but to use graphics card. –Ramhound May 18 '12 at 12:19 1 There are also supported CPUs that only support DDR3 800 MHz memory. My guess you have one of those. –Ramhound May 18 '12 at 12:26 That board should be able to handle that RAM. As per Rsmhound's questions, what kind of CPU is it? Did you install the graphic adapter? 3 even beeps is RAM, One long beep followed by 2 short beeps is Video. –Ƭᴇcʜιᴇ007 May 18 '12 at 12:55 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? Will You Break Today: The problem started with me installing 2GB DDR2 RAM (667MHz, 1GB x 2) on an Intel http://www.rajib.com/3-beeps-of-doom-recovering-a-dead-intel-motherboard/582/ D945GCCR motherboard. The motherboard features 2 DDR2 slots, each of which can take a 1 GB DIMM for a max of 2 GB system memory. With such a low configuration, I am gonna stick to Windows XP for this computer. Since the motherboard features onboard Graphics Accelerator, Sound and LAN, it is rare for people to intel motherboard install additional devices in the available PCI-X and PCI slots. I had the insane urge to tweak the BIOS settings and I landed up in "Advanced ->Memory Configuration" page. Normally the memory configuration is set-to Auto and the BIOS auto-detects the slowest timing that the RAM supports and uses it. Other modes are "Manual - Aggressive" and intel motherboard memory "Manual - User Defined" Symptoms: I opted for "Manual - User Defined" and entered the parameters that were printed on the RAM (5-5-5-15). Turns out, this was a bad choice. Upon saving the settings and restarting the machine, all I heard was 3 beeps, just once. There was no display on the monitor. The HDD and CDROM drive had spun-up but did not display any activity. The keyboard was non-functional (no caps lock key indicator activity). The Diagnosis: I tried all the conventional techie stuff like removing the CMOS battery, attempting to short the battery terminals, attempting to short the CMOS Reset Pins (the placeholders actually, there are no jumper for CMOS reset on this motherboard). I even tried the conventional non-techie advice like blow-sweep-mop-clean-dry (just kidding) the motherboard and RAM slots. Bottom-line - the motherboard still was not responding and considering the fact that the CMOS messages (settings) were not even showing, I suspected that it was a more severe underlying problem. Perhaps some chip had blown somewhere
