The system's been rebooted a few times since I updated the BIOS.When I rebooted my system today, I first got stuck at POST 9B. After unplugging and plugging back in various USB mice, eventually the BIOS decided to get stuck on POST 58.I tried using the Back to BIOS button but it had no apparent effect. So, I moved the BIOS jumper to "configuration" and rebooted. Now, I get the BIOS splash screen (with the extra, redundant Intel logo) and the number "58" at the lower right. There is no other text on the screen. There the computer sits for several minutes. (Several minutes == >5 minutes). After that, I get a black screen with a flashing cursor in the upper-left corner. And it's still there after 10 minutes...Hardware Details:32GB XMP memoryNvidia GeForce 670Various USB peripheralsThree SATA drivesMy question is: How can I get my system working again? Is it time to ask for an RMA? Advertisement AngierNC Thread Starter Joined: Sep 17, 2007 Messages: 13 My Intel DG965WH with Insyde BIOS has been running OK for a year now, but the other day began to hang at boot time. Not sure of the terminology, but there is what I'll call a "boot code" of 58 in the lower right corner of https://communities.intel.com/thread/33486 the screen and it stays there for 2 minutes and 30 seconds and then the boot proceeds normally. Same problem if I change the boot order and boot from my backup drive. I've been unable to find a list of meanings for these "boot codes" using Google. I'm running Win XP SP3, SATA drives. When this hang occurs, hitting F2 to get into the BIOS had https://forums.techguy.org/threads/intel-mb-insyde-bios-code-58.743868/ no effect at all. Just before the hang clears, I hear a muffled click or two from one of the disk drives. Where can I find these boot codes defined, or does someone have an idea what's going on? I've downloaded and installed the latest available level of the BIOS code but the problem is the same. Go to your drive manufacturers site and down their drive diagnostic utility, and see if it finds any errors. win2kpro, Aug 26, 2008 #2 AngierNC Thread Starter Joined: Sep 17, 2007 Messages: 13 Insyde is the BIOS manufacturer - I believe it's owned by Intel, so you'll never run into it except with Intel MBs. Have already checked hard drives for problems and there are none. As I mentioned, I can change the boot order so that I boot from my backup drive, but result is the same. After the 2 min 30 sec delay, all loads properly. But - I agree
