As I never had an Intel motherboard before I need ask: is normal to show calling legacy option roms the code "EB" on the right corner for a few seconds during boot?I'm having some problems to boot with external DVD drive plugged into the USB. The screen just hangs on Intel's initial screen with the code "EB" in intel motherboard error codes the right corner and stays there and the computer does not POST.If I remove the DVD drive the motherboard POST perfectly , but still for 2 or 3 seconds with thr "EB" on the right corner of the screen. Is this normal? How to solve this? ps: already updated the BIOS to the latest version. Thank you! 15678Views Tags: none (add) errorContent tagged with error, postContent tagged with post, ebContent tagged with eb This content has been marked as

With 2 x 4GB CMV4GX3M1A1333C9 memory (as single or double channel), freezes at boot/post. With only one of these, works ok. I have managed to stick with one that works OK and currently trying to get a RMA for the other memory module. I am not certain if this is a motherboard bug or memory compatibility/issue, though. Under it will be the F-keys selected for display (if you've chosen to display any). As far as reading a CD from the USB port, I think you may have to change the BIOS settings to Enable "Boot USB Devices First". You may have to change some of the other parameters also--such as; Boot

found some suggestions that turning legacy USB off would help. Tried that. b&q No change. Heard rumblings about not putting a PATA drive on the secondary with a PATA CD/DVD-ROM. Pulled the PATA drive. No change. The system hangs on the BIOS splash page. The little diagnistic code freezes at EB and then nothing. Hitting reset will get a boot. I built this https://communities.intel.com/thread/23079 box last month and it rebooted fine then. Any suggestions? WHERE it occurs: The problem occurs at the very first screen that appears after pressing power button where there are two ‘Intel’ logos with few two digit alphabets which keep on changing at the right bottom of the screen like: BA BC EB usually this screen last for 2, 3 seconds. WHEN it occurs: BUT at the times when the problem occurs my PC remain stuck at this screen at the BA point (see image attached), with no intel motherboard eb CPU activity happening it just remain stagnant there. Other Important Observations/Information: This problem ALWAYS occurs when I Restart my PC or even when I Shutdown and start it again without switching off main power (UPS + Main switch) I have also noticed when I have a bootable USB attached to PC at the time of booting up it gets stuck at the BC point instead of BA To correct it I have power it off, switch off electric supply behind including UPS, Main power, wait for 3,4 seconds and power it on again, than it all works fine. I have changed my power supply for the PC as thinking that this issues is somehow related to power problem but didn’t helped, I have also reinstalled windows after this problem but this problem is still there. PC configuration: 64 bit system | Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 | 4 GB Ram | Screen shot of screen where PC gets stuck Kindly help me out with how to get rid of this problem as it gets really problematic in many ways including while installing windows or when you have to restart your pc etc. Thankyou! boot reboot share|improve this question edited Oct 7 at 0:16 Hennes 51.1k776121 asked Nov 9 '12 at 11:15 Maven 30331018 Try cleaning the insides of the CPU.
