To correct this problem it may be necessary to update either DirectX or your audio card's driver. This error can also occur in interactual player download the InterActual software if your system has the Ulead DVD Player installed. This software apparently does not have DirectSound support in its DirectShow sound filters, so when our player attempts to use it to play a DVD then the error will occur. For information about DVD decoders that properly support Microsoft DirectShow functions, visit the "Buy A DVD Decoder" section on our main website. http://player.interactual.com/help/support/articles/0151.asp So, first of all, which version of DirectX are you running? Go to Run and type DXDIAG In the first tab will be the version. Also, what is your sound card? Control panel | System. Device Manager. Under Sound will be the name of the card. Then, rightclick and choose Properties, driver tab. Whats the version? Regards eddie eddie5659, Jul 18, 2004 #2 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies. You may be using an unsupported display mode interactual player or your system may not have a working decoder installed. Please ensure that your DVD decoder is functioning properly by launching it from Start | Programs.' I've tried playing cds and there are no problems. This has only just started happening. Any ideas anyone? More about : dvd drive play dvds Anonymous 16 July 2005 19:10:46 Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.general (More info?) InterActual is a program normally put on many DVD interactual player 2.0 movies to allow a PC to play a DVD movie. You could try going to add/remove programs. Remove InterActual. Then, put in a DVD movie with that program on it, and reinstall it. Many people use the 3rd party pay-for PowerDVD program instead. An errant program, yourself, or another user could have minimized some display setting. Preventing the display of full color/screen DVD movies. Reinstalling InterActual won't fix this. There are three steps in playing commercial DVD movies. One is the menu system. Another is decoding some of the DVD files that each contain a certain mpeg2. Both of these are done with the DVD movie playing software. And, finally, these are decoded and displayed. This last step is what the error message is referring to. "gort"
