I usually use a PS2, but I've borrowed it to my brother. >_< Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. Pyotr, Oct 19, 2004 #5 Lorand VIP Member Messages: 3,016 Oops, just found out that: The free InterActual software included on DVD's does not include a DVD decoder. (http://player.interactual.com/help/support/articles/0137.asp) So your problem is that there's no DVD decoder installed on your system. That free rDVDplayer won't help either, because it's not a standalone player (DVD codec isn't included due to licensing). Try installing a trial or demo version of WinDVD or PowerDVD. Lorand, Oct 20, 2004 #6 Praetor Administrator Staff Member Messages: 20,021 Yeah you're gonna need a MPEG2 codec installed onto the system. Windows Media Player does NOT come with one As Lorand noted, installing WinDVD/PowerDVD would be required Praetor, Oct 20, 2004 #7 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Plays audio cds fine. I had installed SP2 on the machine without any problem but started noticing on some forums about cd and dvd's not operating after sp2 was loaded. I thought I would check and found both audio and dvd not working. I un installed sp2 and the audio works ok but no video playback. The message is this: Interactual player 2.0, playback failed due to a problem in the video subsystem. Lowering your screen resolution or color depth may fix the problem. As I think about this when I uninstalled sp2 I got a box that stated that if uninstalled you may have problems with interactual player. How would be the best way to approach solving this problem?
