When backing up to my computer by pushing "Back Up Now" in iTunes, I get an error message: The iPhone 'X' cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-50) The last backup time does change, and it isn't saying that the backup failed, but it is odd that I get that error every time. The drive works fine after rebooting the system but after a day or two it won't let me create or save documents to the drive. Considering this occurs to you at the point where iTunes begins transferring purchases, I wonder if it's trying to write files to a drive behaving like my drive.
