However, some users have reported persistent problems syncing their iPhones after updating to iTunes 8.0.1. I http://blog.os-store.com/la/microsoft-system-error-codes-12000-15999-introduced/ had even suggested a workaround to fix this problem. If that hasn't helped then checkout the fix recently posted by Apple on their Support page after the jump. ipod cannot Some users have reported that they are getting one of the following error messages after upgrading to iTunes 8.0.1 and connecting iPhone: "The iPhone "iPhone name" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13014)." - As seen in the screen shot below. "The iPhone "iPhone name" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13136)." "The iPhone "iPhone ipod cannot be name" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13213). " Apple has posted three solutions that you can try out one at a time to resolve the sync issue: Quit and reopen iTunes. If the issue continues, then restart your computer. Turn off Genius in iTunes in the Genius sidebar (choose View > Hide Genius Sidebar). Quit iTunes, temporarily disable the anti-virus security software on your computer, then reopen iTunes and try to sync your device. If iTunes successfully syncs your iPhone or iPod touch, consult the anti-virus software vendor. Are you facing this issue? If you are an end-user that is experiencing difficulty with an application you are installing or running, contact customer support for the software that is displaying the error message. The System Error Codes are very broad. Each one can occur in one of many hundreds of locations in the system. Consequently the descriptions of these codes cannot be very specific. Use of these codes requires some amount of investigation and analysis. You need to note both the programmatic and the run-time context in which these errors occur. Because these codes are defined in WinError.h for anyone to use, sometimes the codes are returned by non-system software. Sometimes the code is returned by a function deep in the stack and far removed from your code that is handling the error. The following list describes system error codes (errors 12000 to 15999). They are returned by the GetLastError function when many functions fail. To retrieve the description text for the error in your application, use the FormatMessage function with the FORMAT_MESSAGE_FROM_SYSTEM flag.
