But here http://www.mac-forums.com/showthread.php?t=153965 is my question... I recently tried connecting my ipod to itunes (8.1.1, latest version) & got an error. so i put it in disk mode & reconnected it and it said i had to restore it. so i tried & once again (after asking for my password) it gave me Error 1430. I've tried to reformat using disk utility & current have it formatted in Mac OS Extended. I also went through the steps on apples website of what they say to do when you get that error. When not plugged in, it just shows the Apple logo on my iPod, nothing else. I've looked at everyyyyy answer through google and this forum among others...so if anyone can help that'd be great! I'm hoping it is not a bad hard drive. But it seems like this is a fairly common problem, but no solution has solved it yet. Thanks. When looking at my iPod it said it was full. I tried to restore it on iTunes and it ipod error 1439 said it was corrupt and I got error 1430. When I tried to take care of it with DiskUtility I may have worsened the problem. I attempted to erase it, because it would not let me select repair. That did not go through, but then it did let me try to repair it. I tried, but that would not go through either. I then looked at it in iTunes and it said it was empty. I tried DiskUtility one more time and it now is giving me this: What can I do now to get my iPod back? I don't care if I loose everything on my iPod. ipod restore share|improve this question edited Nov 23 '11 at 22:17 patrix♦ 34.8k1072102 asked Nov 23 '11 at 22:11 Jeff 1112 I didn't know that DiskUtil was even able to access an iPod... Does it still show up in iTunes? Did you try to restore it from there? –patrix♦ Nov 23 '11 at 22:17 it sometimes shows up, but it will not restore it. I am getting error code 1430, and it stops while restoring and says it cannot be complete. –Jeff Nov 23 '11 at 22:37
