It could be that PPT 2003 is looking for a specific WAV device. Try running SFC to make sure none of your utility apps/drivers are broken. Also, is your Win7 32-bit or 64-bit? OldWeirdPro, Mar 31, 2011 #2 patriotzhou Thread Starter mci error no Joined: Jul 1, 2009 Messages: 7 we are using Wi7 32-bit professional. We found out only that wav audio file had issue, other wav audios no issue. However the problem wav audio on Windows XP no issue. patriotzhou, Mar 31, 2011 #3 OldWeirdPro Joined: Mar 31, 2011 Messages: 41 Since you're running 32-bit Windows 7 there shouldn't be any major compatibility issues. If I understand correctly, the problem is only with a single WAV file in PPT, not all WAV files in PPT? If that's the case, one possible workaround would be: 1. In Windows 7, convert the "bad" WAV file to another audio file format 2. Convert the new audio file back to WAV (I'd use another filename to differentiate it) This might change the structure of the WAV file so that it begins working under PPT 2003/Win7.
