I have used ACLT2000 with Win98, WinXP and now I have installed Windows 7. I have this one community project that needs to be plotted. My plotter is a http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c01107349 HP8750 Photosmart printer. This has worked with previous versions of Windows. Now I get two error messages. First is "Memory allocation error". I click OK and Second message is: HP Photosmart 8700 Series: The plotter configuration cannot be used. Either the driver cannot be found, or the driver has a problem. The None plot device has been substituted. Even my desk PDF will not print. Deadline for project http://www.cadeverything.com/help/showthread.php/5920-Memory-allocation-error-when-trying-to-plot looms. Help... (I thought I had posted this before but cannot find. Re: driver. Try uninstalling the plotter and then reinstalling. Uninstall first. Turn off computer. Turn on plotter. Turn on computer. Reinstall driver. Do a test print when offered the opportunity during the plotter driver setup. Did it work? If yes, then open AutoCAD and do a quick test plot as well. If not...well...it might be time to move up to LT 2011. You may have to increase the size of your virtual memory (i.e. - the swap file). Post a complete list of your computer hardware specs. Hitting 'OK' or'Cancel' simply brings the error memory allocation error message back, so I have to force app closedown thru task manager. I'm using ACAD2000 full & W2K Pro (SP1), printing to an Epson Stylus 1200 using USB (unable to use parallel port). This was a clean install and I am using the latest W2K drivers for this printer. I have configured ACAD to use the Windows System printer too. If I create a simple drawing and then go into Print Setup to select this printer, the application comes up with the 'Memory Allocation error' once and then returns the message 'This plotter configuration cannot be used. Either the driver cannot be found, or the driver has a problem. The None plot device has been substituted'. Going into 'Add A Plotter Wizard' and selecting this printer results in the 31 character warning and then gives a 'Runtime error. Program: C:\Program Files\ACAD2000\addplwiz.exe. abnormal program termination' error message. It then exits. Does anyone know how I can overcome this problem and plot drawings?RegardsDevaprem RE: AutoCAD 2000 & W2K: 'Memory Allocation error' Empeethree (IS/IT--Management) 17 Jul 01 15:10 I would check and see if they have updated drivers on their website.rob RE: AutoCAD 2000 & W2K: 'Memory Allocation error' Devaprem (TechnicalUser) (OP) 21 Jul 01 08:47 Thanks, the AutoDesk Plotter Update patch has allowed me

I use Windows 7. When I use AutoCAD 2000 as an administrator in Win 7 I have no problems plotting. However I prefer to use AutoCAD as a different user. When I do that, I can't plot and get a memory allocation error message. Any ideas what I can do to plot AutoCAD as a non-administrator in Win 7? my e-mail is peterhopf@aol.com Reply With Quote 2012-05-08,11:44 AM #2 Norton_cad View Profile View Forum Posts All AUGI, all the time Join Date 2016-02 Location Sydney, Australia Posts 510 Re: Plotting with Win7 and AutoCAD 2000 With no autodesk program running, in file manager do a search for *.ac$;*.dmp;*.err files off your C: drive. That may stop the memory problems. Then give your new profile admin privilages, until your can isolate which printer drivers has admin privilages only. Your can right click a drivers to see it's properties. Ohm's Law - Electricity follows the path of least resistance.
