This is v3.6 running under Windows. I have two Crucial Ballistix PC8500 DIMMS of 1Gb each in an Asus P5K-E WiFi mobo. Timings are 5-5-5-15 2T running on 2.2v. I have to run two instances of MemTest each testing 825Mb. One instance reports 102 errors in a single pass - the other none after 5 passes. I'm getting two types of error - Memory error detected Pair 33400472 does not store values accurately and Memory error detected. Copying between X and Y did not result in a accurate copy. X and Y are memory addresses. It seems logical that I have a bad DIMM. If it was down to BIOS settings it would affect both DIMMS wouldn't it? Is this genuinely faulty RAM that should be RMAd? Legacy USB Support has been changed from Auto to Disabled. Thanks. Last edited by Ray Proudfoot; 06-01-2008 at 15:09. Recently my pc started to freeze up, and get no, weren't able to use mouse or keyboard including CTRL+ALT+DEL as well. I ran a MemTest using ( hcidesign.com/memtest ) and had some errors occuring, looking like this:"Memory error detected! Pair 28507496 does not store values accurately. MemTest has detected that your computer cannot accurately store data in RAM. You need to fix this." ( the pair 28507496 is not the only pair that gets the error message ). I shortly after ran CPU-Z to take some pictures for you users. To see if anything's wrong ( apparently there is ). So they look like this: http://img84.imageshack.us/my.php?im...che2999cq3.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?image=cpu2999sx3.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ard2999bk0.jpg http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ory2999rb6.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?i...99slot1hq8.jpg http://img84.imageshack.us/my.php?im...99slot2rr8.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?i...99slot3kd8.jpg http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?i...99slot4yv7.jpg If you are in need to see further of my pc speccs be free to ask, i can do a dxidag, and the CPU-Z log if needed. If anyone finds an error and know how to solve it, please tell me how to then, most likely a step-by-step guide. As i ain't the best at it.
help here ! My PC has 2 DDR2 memory modules, 1GB each, for a total of 2GB RAM. The OS is WinXP. For the past few days, the PC kind of halting. Sometimes the cursor kind of not responding, sometimes some other things happened, indicating that http://www.velocityreviews.com/threads/questions-about-memory-error-the-use-of-memtest.604975/ something is terribly wrong --- most probably a MEMORY error. I downloaded 3 memtest programs, 1 http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Operating-Systems-and-Recovery/Memory-management/td-p/2461663 from http://hcidesign.com/memtest/, 1 from http://www.memtest86.com/download.html, 1 from http://www.memtest.org/ First test - Booted up the PC with the Memtest bootCD from www.memtest86.com. Ran the test overnight. No error ! Went back to Windows, the halting problems cropped up. So I ran a second test. Second test - Booted up the PC with the Memtest bootCD from www.memtest.org. Ran the test overnight again. Again, No error ! Went back memory error to Windows, again the halting problems !! So the 3rd test. I drop XP to safe mode with command prompt, then call up 2 instances of the memtest from http://hcidesign.com/memtest/, each checking 918MB. Result - Errors ! Memory Errors Detected ! Copying between 4c21c71 and 4c2193a did not result in accurate copy. Memory Errors Detected ! Pair 19897713 does not store values accurately. Memory Errors Detected ! Copying between 5547871 and 5547832 did not result in accurate copy. Memory Errors Detected ! Copying between memory error does 4c32471 and 4c323a2 did not result in accurate copy. Memory Errors Detected ! Copying between 36f8071 and 36f8060a did not result in accurate copy. Memory Errors Detected ! Copying between 4c32471 and 4c322d9 did not result in accurate copy. Conclusion: Something wrong with the DDR2 memory module ! Problem: Which module giving out errors? I got one of the DDR2 module out. Ran the memtest from http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ -- no error. Switch the sticks to test the other DDR2 module. Ran the memtest from http://hcidesign.com/memtest/ -- again no error ! Now I'm totally confused. Why when I ran the test with both DDR2 modules, I got errors, and no error when I ran the modules one at a time?? So I ran the bootCD memtest test again, this time with one module at a time. Again no error on both runs ! What am I doing wrong here? How am I going to locate which module that is giving out errors? Can anyone help out please? Thank you ! 3.hu, Apr 11, 2008 #1 Advertisements catchme Guest 3.hu wrote: > Need help here ! > > My PC has 2 DDR2 memory modules, 1GB each, for a total of 2GB RAM. > > The OS is WinXP. > > For the past few days, the PC kind of halting.
