Memory Error Failed To Reallocate Space
processing incrementally a dimension with ~5 millions entries.I also tried to process the dimension in full mode, but I got the same errormessage.Reducing the number of entries is not a solution. How can I solve this problem? Thanks in advance. If so, I'drecommend that you consider redesigning this dimension so that you don'thave the leaf level, and instead have a series of regular dimensionsthatrepresent what are currently your virtual dimensions. For example, supposethis is a customer dimension. Instead of storing 2 million leaf membersandmember properties for each member, consider breaking the dimension apartandbuilding demographic dimensions (gender, age, income, etc). If yourusersare really interested in analysis along what are currently your virtualdimensions, this could keep you from having to have a "customer" level.Ofcourse, if your users actually want to drill-down to this level ofdetail ona dimension, you m
is rather close to the limit Firefly can allocate when running under Linux. Note, the memory allocated by Firefly must be formed by a single continuous address range in the virtual address space. It is not always possible to allocate such a huge piece of continuous memory as there is some randomness in the way how Linux loads shared libraries and their data segments. In addition, Firefly normally allocates memory after MPI initialization so that any memory fragmentation resulted from MPI init can have negative impact on the largest amount of memory available to Firefly. I have no idea why you do http://microsoft.public.sqlserver.olap.narkive.com/QruH0HbZ/memory-error-failed-to-reallocate-space not see this effect with Firefly RC 40,one of the possible explanations could that the the smaller size of the older Firefly's executable images increases the probability to allocate exactly 480 MW. With Firefly version v. 8.0.0, the thing that can help is the following command line option: ./firefly8 -prealloc:485 other options This will try to pre-allocate 485 MW in the virtual address space at the very beginning of http://classic.chem.msu.su/cgi-bin/ceilidh.exe/gran/gamess/forum/?C35e9ea902bHW-8696-94+00.htm the job initialization. There is no warranty that the pre-allocation will be successful though. Another way is to use a bit less memory, say 479 MWords or so. Finally. how much is the typical number of AOs in the systems you are modeling? If it is large, I can provide you the current beta of Firefly v. 8.0.1 which has a somewhat reduced memory demands for XMCQDPT2 code.Kind regards,Alex Granovsky On Mon Oct 21 '13 9:16am, Panwang Zhou wrote-------------------------------------------->Dear Alex,>It seems that there is bug in Firefly version 8.0.0 Linux/MPICH2, dynamically linked version for memory allocation in XMCQDPT2 calculations.>I have run a series of jobs with XMCQDPT2 using Firefly 8.0.0 with the following input:> $CONTRL SCFTYP=MCSCF RUNTYP=ENERGY EXETYP=RUN MAXIT=50 ICHARG=-1> MULT=1 FSTINT=.T. I use NetBeans for other things (namely php), but have just found it easier to use eclipse for android stuff. What in your opinion are the benefits over eclipse? –SBerg413 Aug 28 '11 at 19:12 3 I just never used Eclipse before, but I don't know why, I hate it, the reason, it's even complicated in GUI vs NetBeans, but for the moment I am downloading it, to try, if the problem disappears, I will make Android stuff only in it. –Denees Aug 28 '11 at 19:32 47 Wow, that comment was a comma massacre. Anyway, make sure your AVD is using an appropriate amount of RAM (i.e., enough to run but not more than your computer can handle). This is set when you create the virtual device. –Glendon Trullinger Aug 28 '11 at 19:52 2 Just for reference, I have a Core i7 with 16gb of ram, maxxed out ram on my AVD's and they are all laggy unfortunately :/ –Jack Aug 28 '11 at 20:35 1 And how do you maxxed it? –Denees Aug 28 '11 at 20:53 | show 5 more comments 20 Answers 20 active oldest votes up vote

Page 1 of 3 1 2 3 Next > wellesgoodrich@mac.com Messages: 11 (I posted this message in the wrong forum already so I'm reposting it here as it is a Mac question.) When I try to launch Windows XP Pro via Parallels Desktop 3.0 (build 4128) on a Mac Pro 266, 4GB RAM, 4 internal HDs, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT I get the following error message... "Parallels Desktop failed to allocate the specified amount of memory. Please restart Parallels Desktop and try again. To avoid this problem in the future choose from the menu: Parallels Desktop > Preferences. On the Memory tab select the "Enable virtual memory preallocation" option." This error just started for no apparent reason. If I restart my computer Windows launches and runs just fine (except for the failure when dragging single files from Windows to the Mac desktop.) I believe it is the case that this failure to launch occurs after my computer is put in sleep mode and then 'awaken.' Has anyone else seen this issue? Should my next troubleshooting step be a reinstall of Parallels? Thanks for any advice. wellesgoodrich@mac.com, Jul 8, 2007 #1 Ankou Guest Hello wellesgoodrich What amount of RAM are you trying to allocate to your VM? Ankou, Jul 9, 2007 #2 wellesgoodrich@mac.com Messages: 11 Hi Ankou, I have the Main memory allocation set to 1500MB, the maximum recommended in the Configuration Editor. In the preferences memory window, Adjust memory limit Automatically is selected and Enable virtual memory preallocation is checked. wellesgoodrich@mac.com, Jul 9, 2007 #3 Ankou Guest Thank you for for the information.
