For example, if a dialog box is open in the server application, close the dialog box, and then return to the client application (in this case, Microsoft Excel). Periodically, Excel hangs on this error, the error is displayed and I can't get excel ole error rid of it. It just keeps popping up. It's difficult to "restart" the computer with the Start button because an Excel message then appears that "Microsoft Excel Cannot be closed". I sometimes have to physically turn the computer off with the power no/off button on the tower case. However, occasionally the "restart" from the Start button would eventually shut down the system. I noticed that as that happened, I got some kind of a error indicating that something like "acrobat32.exe" needs to be terminated. That baffles me because when i got the OLE message, I suspected Acrobat, and proceeded to open/close Acrobat and Reader, trying to get the "other application to complete the OLE action". This is the first time I've attached pdf objects in workbooks. I noticed that once you insert a pdf object, it does not dynamically reference that object. So if the original file, which was the original object, get replaced with a new file (with the same name), the object in Excel is not updated (it displays the original file object). Here is my question: after inserting an object, why would Excel have anything to "wait for" from Ac
