(0.78207 seconds) !EMPTY(XRef.GrpID) Error Message Thread ID: 395331 Cecil Champenois !EMPTY(XRef.GrpID) Error Message Visual FoxPro errs out right at the first CASE statement. An error message states that it doesn't know what GrpID is, yet I reference the field with its ALIAS table's name, of XREF. A more full name is PRAM_XREF_DEF (This is the true name of the table). Is there some reason for which FoxPro would not allow me to reference the field int he table by its alias name? The below code is part of my effort to build a WHERE Clause for a SQL statement. The actual error message is, "Variable, 'GrpID', is not found." FOUND THE ERROR!!! MISSPELLED the variable name. You do NOT NEED to respond to this. SELECT XREF && This is the ALIASed "Access to system registry denied" Thread ID: 423499 Ilya Rabyy "Access to system registry denied" Colleagues, Have anybody seen this error message (apparently - from the OS) after the compilation of the EXE is finished? My Win7-64 machine started giving me this grief last Wednesday... I think it was after I installed those Win OS updates. Before that - everything worked like a champ. Regards, Ilya "Action cancelled" when viewing CHM file Thread ID: 90665 Ilya Rabyy "Action cancelled" when viewing CHM file Colleagues, what may trigger the error message in subject? The CHM (Help) file was built with MS Front Page and compiled using HTML Help Workshop. It works with no problem on other customers' machines (whatever the WinOS) but just one. And it happens on that one customer's WinNT5.1 (XP) SP2 machine. We ran it on NT5.1SP2 machine here - and it works like a champion. What might be the cause? MS IE settings? If so - which ones I am to tell the customer to look up? TIA! Regards, Ilya "ActiveControl is not an object" - ??? Thread ID: 239461 Ilya Rabyy "ActiveControl is not an object" - ??? So you get the "blue screen of death"? Indeed blue screen may be cause by aluron rootkit. I suggest to you the following: To keep your system safe, you must follow the instructions hereunder to the letter: 1. Download Combofix to your desktop. http://www.combofix.org/download.php 2.Close all open Windows including this one. Close or disable all running Antivirus, Antispyware, and Firewall programs as they may interfere with the proper running of ComboFix. 3. Double click on the ComboFix icon. Windows is issuing this prompt because ComboFix does not have a digital signature. This is perfectly normal and safe and you can click on the Run button to continue. 4. Accept the disclaimer and the recovery 5.You should now press the Yes button to continue. If at any time during the Recovery Console installation you receive a message stating that it failed to install, please allow ComboFix to continue with the scan of your computer. ComboFix will disconnect your computer from the Internet, so do not be surprised or concerned if you receive any warnings stating that you are no longer on the Internet. When ComboFix has finished it will au

However, the problem is for certain columns in my database, the number of characters exceeds 1024. So on copying it to an excel, it gives me the "recordset" error. Can someone please give me a macro of how I can copy and paste more than 1024 characters into a cell in excel. Thanks Justin Wednesday, August 31, 2011 4:44 PM Reply | Quote Answers 1 Sign in to vote Hi Peter Peter Thornton [MVP] wrote: You say "recordset error" but that sounds like an error with ADODB rather than Excel. Cell formulas starting with an = are limited to 1024 characters, however cells can accept and store text up to 32k in length. ADO's recordset can handle much more than that. Are you sure? At least in DAO the limitation was not the single field, but the sum of the length of the fields in the record. If this exceeded the page size (2048 bytes) you got an error. Not counted in the length are DAO fieldtypes Memo and OLE Object. As he get a problem with 1024 characters it could be that the text is in unicode, so the length then would be 2048 bytes. This would indicate he runs into this limitation. What we normally did in Access in this cases was to change the fieldtype to Memo (or Text > 255 characters in SQL Server if it was a linked table) and it worked.
