OLE Control or Automation Server Error Hi Guys, I have an OLE Control or Automation Server error when trying to log a segment that has a word document attached to it via the Interaction Template. When the user goes to Log the Segment it starts to produce the Word Document and fails with the following error...This message is for C/AL Programmers:Could not create an instance of the OLE control or https://community.dynamics.com/nav/f/34/t/9490 Automation server identified by GUID={3C2554FE-2B41-4543-B3E8-E64296773DA5] 2.0:{40D88563-F0DA-4B3D-AD1B-34EFA8C3978A} UNknown Automation Server.Unknown Class.Check that the OLE control or Automation server is correctly installed and registered.I havent a clue what this means but I guess I'm missing an OCX or something as I had similar thing recently with online submission of payroll year end data. Does anyone know what is missing he says hopefully [?]. This should register automatically the needed OCX's and DLL's. kriki Paul Croucher 0 2006-4-12 12:57 PM Hi Alain again. I didnt install the clients but I guess it must be some like the OCX's or DLL's as it works on my machine when I connect to their server. I guess I will have to go visit the client and reinstall the client in repair mode myself. Again, thanks for your help it is very much appreciated. Paul Croucher Dynamics Solutions Consultant For Bluerock Systems Paul Croucher Geovanny Fuentes 0 2006-4-12 5:04 PM Correct,As a reminder, you should compile All objects if you have time.See what appears, usually only Microsoft basic 15->25 objects will not compile because of their other OCX/DLL's used. That's o.k.If you go to different client sites with different versions, you may need to do the same thing (Install Client version). If the client has an Add-on from another reseller that does special OCX/DLL stuff, you may also need to install those objects to get the program to run.Remember, proper installation at a client site is always a good thing to do on all workstations, some people just C

The Navision client on that PC can then use an "automation" variable to find this DLL and use it. What's the problem? We need to rollout this DLL to the production environment. We're working with an RDP solution where the navision client runs on 2 RDP servers which our users use. This means that ole error navision we only need to be able to deploy the DLL to these 2 servers. We have tried the following 2 solutions we've found here and on several blog posts: Drag the DLL to C:\windows\assembly (as administrator) Use the REGASM to register the DLL (REGASM ourDll.dll /tlb:ourDll.dll) After having executed these we've found the DLL in Navision which we tried to initialize using a CREATE command: CLEAR(ourDll); CREATE(ourDll); IF ISCLEAR(ourDll) THEN CREATE(ourDll); But after this we receive the following error (translated version): This message is for C/AL programmers: Could not create an instance of the OLE control or Automation Server identified by Automation Server with identification GUID={guid} 1.0:{guid}:'ourDll'.Consume Verify if the OLE-control or Automation server was correctly installed and registered. After this we tried to run GACUTIL /i ourDll.dll which installed our DLL into the GAC but the result remains the same. Since we've done this there's an errormessage: The text is too long for the buffer. However this error doesn't seem to stop navision of compiling. The error message on run stays the same as above. c# dll com navision share|improve this question asked Jun 13 '13 at 8:39 IvanL 1,68211228 I suggest you don't put the assembly in the GAC (no drag to windows\assembly, no GACUTIL), but use REGASM with the /codebase option instead. Also make sure the bitness of the COM C# DLL is compatible wi

Solved OLE error in Citrix environment when Navision tries to communicate with MS WORD Posted on 2006-10-30 Windows 2000 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 973 Views Last Modified: 2008-01-09 Hi my friends, From a Citrix client > I get this error when I work from within Navision and try to open a WORD attachment. Could not create an instance of the OLE control or automation server identified by GUID blahblahblahblah > this control exists and is correctly registered on the system. One peculiarity I did find was that the InProcServer was comdlg32.ocx. This file resides in the WINNT folder but also in hte Navision Client folder and those files are not identical. Both size and version differ, the one supplied with Navision is the newest. Has anyone any idea where to look for possible clues? I have an - unrelated - application that was giving me OLE errors. Here's their fix: If you have Norton AntiVirus 2001 installed on your system, it is possible that this program enabled Script Blocking, which would cause Maximizer to generate an OLE error during a Maximizer session. To disable Norton AntiVirus 2001 Script Blocking: 1. Start Norton AntiVirus. 2. Click Options. If a menu appears when you click Options, then click Norton AntiVirus. The Options for Norton AntiVirus dialog box appears. 3. Click Script Blocking. 4. Uncheck "Enable Script Blocking (recommended)." 5. Click OK. I dunno, but worth a shot. 0 LVL 14 Overall: Level 14 Windows 2000 1 Message Accepted
