Try removing (completely) the existing driver, reboot the pc and then install PCL5 print driver from HP. It can sometimes be connection between the printer and the pc. Check cable connections. Try a different network card, connection, or port. In rare cases its the formatter, but I'd check the other stuff first. to connect to my machine. Using the latest PS driver it gives an error when trying to print pdf or image files via ethernet connection. The same files can then http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/70162 sometimes be printed via parallel connection and it is ok. Very frustrating any ideas what might be wrong? Respond to this 0 No idea whatsoever...Now if you had said what error message you were getting I might have had some chance of helping... by Stephen on Mar 4, 2011 at 5:09am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Hi StephenYeah the error message is PCL XL Error. It somtimes prints a bit of the file and then junks the rest with this error message at the end.Hope this helps and puts some light on the issue. Crazy that it reacts differently whether it is via ethernet or parallel connection aswell. Thanks for any assistance.Regards by captain tangent on Mar 4, 2011 at 5:46am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 pcl xl error You might get away with reloading the driver or loading a different driver version. If you are getting error codes "49.xxxx", you may need to do a firmware upgrade. For some reason, when you update Adobe, there can be certain pdf files that will cause trouble. The newer HP firmware versions should solve the issue. by unknown on Mar 4, 2011 at 6:10pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 If you get a pcl xl error then you are not using postscript drivers no matter what you say. pcl xl error is a pcl error and only occurs when using the pcl 6 driver. The information you are providing is not correct. by dmzcompute on Mar 5, 2011 at 8:01pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Having checked back over drivers it does seem that i was using the pcl6 driver. The machine errors none the less as follows:ERROR: unmatchedmarkOFFENDING COMMAND: ]STACK:/7It prints a very small portion of the pdf file first and then gives this message.
