A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/PCL-XL-Error-and-other-weirdness/td-p/164 than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved! Everything seems to work (so far) if on the printing preferences advanced tab I set "Advanced Printing Features" to Disabled.Would be nice to know why this causes issues when enabled, especially as by default the driver has it set to enabled when installed! an error: PCL XL error Subsystem: TEXT Error: InternalError 0x50 Operator: BeginChar Position: 32 I was, for the beginning, able to solve the problem by http://itins.blogspot.com/2012/09/hp-color-laserjet-cm2320-mfp-pcl-xl.html resetting the printer. I power off the printer. Press and held down the right button and X (cancel) until 'permanent storage init' displayed. This resets all the setting to original settings, and if you had http://pcbugz.blogspot.com/2010/06/internal-error-0x50.html it configured to manual network setting, you might consider reconfiguring the printer manually again. It was ok for a day or two, and then restarted again. But this time the above solution did not pcl xl even last for an hour. I had to keep repeating same procedure. I then visited the HP website(my OS is Windows 7 64-bit) and downloaded the firmware...after a successful update of the firmware, all was kicking as new. Hope this helps.... Can i pcl xl error use any laser printer for Plastic card printing purpose?ReplyDeleteChrichtian NealDecember 27, 2012 at 9:18 AMI can't be sure about that. Newer printers are being enhanced with other capabilities to mean 'multifunction'. Like the HP Color LaserJet CP3525n is designed to do plastic cards. One thing to consider is the grade of the PVC card. This could mean a lot when it comes to laser printing from plastic card. 'ANY' is not a best case scenario. Operator: BeginChar Position: 52 Here's the solution for your problem: 1. Restart the printer and try to print a document. Mostly it should work. 2. Control Panel 3. Printers and Faxes 4. Right click HP Color Laserjet CM1312 nfi 5. Select Printing Preferences 6. Advanced Tab 7. On Print Data Optimization, change to Optimize for Text and Vector 8. Apply then try printing a document. I had (almost) the same error message, the only difference was in the last line (Position: 33). Your hint solved my problem as well.AndyReplyDeletejzerxJune 23, 2010 at 9:53 AMThat's awesome dude!ReplyDeleteAnonymousMay 23, 2011 at 9:00 PMWorked on my Xerox Docucolor printer also. Only difference was the Xerox doesn't say "Optimize for Text and Vector". It reads Enable or Disabled. I disabled and it printed...no error. Thanks!ReplyDeleteAnonymousApril 26, 2012 at 1:16 PMworked fine for me as well in a Xerox 7556, after I desabled the Print Data Optimization at the printing preferences, starts to print perfectly.thank you very muchReplyDeleteAnonymousJune 7, 2012 at 6:40 PMWorked for PDF but not word on CM2320nf mfpReplyDeleteAnonymousSeptember 11, 2012 at 9:09 PMTurn off printer. Press and hold down right arrow ( <- ) button along with the cancel ( x ) button...as you press and hold both buttons, power on the printer. Release buttons when you see 'Permanent storage init'.After this, you will have to reconfigure your printer if your are not using the default IP address to connect it to the network. Specify the previous IP address and other network settings.Go to HP web site and download the firmware utility. Run utility and this problem will be gone.
