The machhine prints out a blank page with the message pcl xl error in the upper left corner. It also says error:Illegal Operator Sequence, Operator:Read Image. Have http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/konica-minolta/73346-bizhub-420-pcl-xl-error.html replaced the MFP board/NIC, loaded a postscript and a new pcl driver, yet they say they are still having issues. Would a hard drive or more memory help? Trying to see if anyone else has seen this problem? PCL XL error Subsystem: IMAGE Error: ExtraData Operator: pcl xl ReadImage Position: 134591 I am running XP and printing to a HP LaserJet 4000n. The print drivers are HP Universal Printing PCL 6 (v5.3). I have 64bit machines running so i need to have the universal drivers (HP doesn't have Windows 7 64bit drivers for the LaserJet 4000). Is this an issue with the print driver or is it something with the PDF or Adobe Reader? Let me know if you have any other questions. PCL XL error dell 5310n   11 Replies Serrano OP Helpful Post WkndDrumr Dec 5, 2011 at 9:08 UTC Can you try printing from the page it errors at and see if it prints the rest of the document? Do you know if it's spooling the entire document first on a print server or the local computer before sending to the printer or is it sending the document to the printer immediately? Might want to test those settings if it's not an issue with the document itself. 1 Datil OP lhatsynot Dec 5, 2011 at 9:28 UTC I tried printing again starting with the last page the successfully printed and i got 3 pages out then another "PCL XL error" only with a different position (Position: 11942). The printer is networked and goes through a print server it spools and starts printing immediately. The event viewer on the print server shows the job went through. 0 Jalapeno OP Eric8553 Dec 5, 2011 at 9:33 UTC Have you tried the Universal Postscript driver? I have alot more success with PDF files using Postscript drivers (especially with my HP printers). 0 Poblano OP IdZ-v9 Dec 5, 2011 at 9:36 UTC Usually my first step is to delete the printer from the local PC and re-install / let it download the driver from the server again. If that doesn't fix then I test on other PCs to see if I get the same result from that printer. If I get the same result from other PCs

PCL XL Error When I try to print a downloaded file (but not all) I get the following message: PCL XL error; Subsystem: Kernel, Error: Illegal Operator Sequence, Operator: Set Page Scale; Position: 2. I can print other downloaded files, but some give me this message. I can not figure out how to fix this. Any suggestions? Bill Hays 1 Answer Edit Answer (for another 15 minutes) Hi,the printout is a processing error of your PCL XL (PCL6) printer driver. The reason can vary from file to file.Often it's a lack within the PDF structure the driver cannot handle properly. The most common workaround it to activate the "Print as Image" checkbox in the Advanced Settings of the print dialog of your Adobe Reader or Acrobat. This may cause a slower printout and larger spool file.Another option would be the usage of a PostScript (PS) driver for your printer.
