A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/PCL-XL-Error-and-other-weirdness/td-p/164 and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved! Everything seems to work (so far) if on the printing preferences advanced tab I set "Advanced Printing Features" to Disabled.Would be nice to know why this causes issues when enabled, especially as by default the driver has it set to enabled when installed! an error: PCL XL error Subsystem: TEXT Error: InternalError 0x50 Operator: BeginChar Position: 32 I was, for http://itins.blogspot.com/2012/09/hp-color-laserjet-cm2320-mfp-pcl-xl.html the beginning, able to solve the problem by resetting the printer. I power off the printer. Press and held down the right button and X (cancel) until 'permanent storage init' http://www.justanswer.com/printers/3xbxm-hp-color-laserjet-cm1312-nfi-mfp-something.html displayed. This resets all the setting to original settings, and if you had it configured to manual network setting, you might consider reconfiguring the printer manually again. It was ok pcl xl for a day or two, and then restarted again. But this time the above solution did not even last for an hour. I had to keep repeating same procedure. I then visited the HP website(my OS is Windows 7 64-bit) and downloaded the firmware...after a successful update of the firmware, all was kicking as new. Hope this helps.... Can i use any laser printer for Plastic card printing purpose?ReplyDeleteChrichtian NealDecember 27, 2012 at 9:18 AMI can't be sure about that. Newer printers are being enhanced with other capabilities to mean 'multifunction'. Like the HP Color LaserJet CP3525n is designed to do plastic cards. One thing to consider is the grade of the PVC card. This could mean a lot when it comes to laser printing from plastic card. 'ANY' is not a best case scenario.
