This printer has been installed on computers (on Win XP) before and have been working just fine. The thing that has changed is we set up new machines running Win 7. The printer has been added and now they get an error PCL XL https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/478086-pcl-xl-printing-error error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: UnsupportedProtocol Operator: 0x0 Position: 0 Any ideas on what went wrong or what can be done to try and fix this? Apr 17, 2014 at 4:31 UTC Do you have a Postscript driver available for Windows 7 for it? If so, try that. 0 Pimiento OP lupeleal Apr 17, 2014 at 4:33 UTC I should have it. Why would the driver be an issue if the current driver was working before? 0 Mace OP LarryG. Apr 17, 2014 at 4:34 UTC It's not the same driver. But I have seen this error only on HP printers. Anyway, is the printer driver installed directly on the computer or was the printer added via a share? You can try to install the network printer directly to the computer instead of say adding it from a shared resource. Or, you can try a different driver. Try a PCL5 instead of PCL6. OR, simply turn off the printer and turn back on. Maybe that is a temporary fix.Provide us the exact printer model and maybe we can find other solutions specific to your device. =] 0Votes Share Flag Back to Peripheral Forum 2 total posts (Page 1 of 1) Search Start New Discussion Start New Discussion Create a new discussion If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem.
