Re: PDF brings PCL XL Errors michael_northdakota May 22, 2014 2:38 AM (in response to pwillener) Hello,Yes I've tried that and it does work, however we send these PDFs to all in our team and unfortunately we can't ask everyone to go into their Advanced settings and Print as Image every time we send a PDF it's just not reasonable for them to do, and we have a lot in our team. So within InDesign we have decided to Print the Indesign file to PDF instead of exporting it and then print the PDF as it is - it seems to have worked. Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more pcl xl error often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved! Everything seems to work (so far) if on the printing preferences advanced tab I set "Advanced Printing Features" to Disabled.Would be nice to know why this causes issues when enabled, especially as by default the driver has it set to enabled when installed! However, I can assist you further in Question and Answer mode. All of the PCLXL errors mentioned above could be caused by one or more of the following: - the application (Powerpoint, etc.) is not interfacing correctly with the chosen printer driver. - the printer driver you are using is generating incorrect sequences in the PCLXL stream. - the stream is being corrupted between the machine generating the stream, and the printer. It seems that the first or second of these are the likely causes. Before do any troubleshooting steps, please try printing the pdf file as image (Print as Image option).
