to the network administrator to change the printer settings to use the STANDARD printer driver for that make of printer. (i.e. For Hewlett-Packard printers, use the STANDARD "HP LaserJet" printer http://zis.usassure.com/zibs/zibs.nsf/pages/ECF36229DA07A29485256EF20054C489 driver, for LexMark, use the STANDARD LexMark printer driver, etc.) To http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/PCL-XL-Error-and-other-weirdness/td-p/164 do this: Click on "Start" --> "Settings" --> "Printers" Double-click on "Add Printer" Select either "My Computer" or "Network Printer" (depending on the situation) Select the Port, then click on the "Next" button. Select the manufacturer of the printer on the left column. Select the STANDARD pcl xl printer driver on the right column. Click on the "Next" button. Select "No" if it asks you to set it as the default printer. Continue clicking "Next" and then "Finish" Then, return to your program, try printing the document again, but select this new printer in the "Printer Name" field on your Print dialog box. On the printer: pcl xl error To turn off "High Speed" and "Advanced Functions", perform the following steps: Press the MENU key until "I/O MENU" appears in the printer display. A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved!
