I have done plenty of research and troubleshooting, and this is what I know: The problem started out of nowhere, but I suspect it was pcl xl error illegaloperatorsequence konica minolta right after Microsoft's patch day September 9th. The printers have been on the network and configured the same way for well over a year. The people who are having the errors were printing perfectly fine for well over a year. are using Windows 7. Some users have the issue, while others with the same model laptop printing to the same printer do not have the issue and can print fine. All the affected printers are using the model-specific driver for the printer and always have. Bypassing the print server and setting the printer up directly using an IP port on an affected client fixes the problem. Changing the driver on the Print Server to the Universal Print Driver instead of the model specific driver also fixes the problem. I want to know why, out of nowhere, when I didn't change any drivers on the server, suddenly some clients can no longer print while others are fine. Any thoughts? This is due to the printer's inability to process certain parts of the document, such as embedded fonts or images. You can get rid of this error message and print your document by editing the printer's settings on your computer.Step 1Open the Windows Charms bar by swiping in from the right edge of your screen or by moving your mouse cursor to the top-right corner of your screen and sliding it down. Select "Settings."Step 2Click "Control Panel," and then select "View Devices and Printers."Step 3Right-click on your printer's icon and select "Printing Preferences." Alternatively, if you have a touchscreen device, touch and hold the icon until the context menu appears, and then select "Printing Preferences."Step 4Open the "Advanced" tab, set the Print Data Optimization option to "Optimize for Text and Vector," and then click "Apply."Step 5Print a document to test your new settings. If the document fails to print, power the printer off and turn it back on again before attempting to print the document again.References & ResourcesHP Support Center: HP LaserJet CM1312 MFP and CM2320 MFP Product Series - PCL XL Error While PrintingRelated20 Things We Can Look Forward to After the Digital ApocalypseProductivityHappy Haunted Halloween TechEntertainmentHow to Improve the Wi-Fi Strength in Your Home or OfficeProductivityHow to Restore Your Computer's Settings to an Earlier DateProductivityImprove Your Home's Wi-Fi Signal With These Router TipsProductivityHOW WE SCOREABOUT USCONTACT USTERMS OF USEPRIVACY POLICY©2016 Demand Media, Inc.Login | Sign UpSign UpLog InCreate an account and join the conversation!Or Forgot Password?
