Also are you getting the error on everything you print or just through specific software? renegade600 View Public Profile Find all posts by renegade600 #3 February 26th, 2004, 06:12 PM zipulrich Cyber Tech Help Administrator Join Date: Oct 2000 Location: Deep
Hp Pcl Xl Error
South Age: 13 Posts: 8,629 That's a Hewlett Packard error. Try rebooting both the printer and the PC. Or, try using an older (by 1 version) driver. Here's the info from HP: Perform the following in the order provided: Try to print using the PCL5e printer driver that came with the HP LaserJet printing system. Unplug the parallel or network data cable from the back of the product. Verify that the product is in Ready Mode. Print a Configuration Report. If the page does not print or garbled characters or symbols appear on the report, have the printer serviced. If the report prints correctly, proceed to the next step. Verify the parallel cable connection. Verify that the parallel cable is IEEE-1284 compliant. Try a different IEEE-1284 cable. Connect the printer directly to the parallel port on the computer. If the printer cannot be directly connected to the computer, try a different network cable or network port on the hub. If applicable, try a different USB cable. I have seen this error when a printer is set to one printer language (PDL) and you are using a driver that is sending data to the printer in another language. Something may have changed with the system configuration, maybe an update or installation of a new application?I would try deleting the driver from the Printer Setup Utility and then from the Printer Setup Utility menu, selecting Reset Printing System. Once that is done, restart the Mac with the LJ1012 disconnected and then once the Mac is running again, connect the printer and open Printer Setup Utility again to add the printer.Regards,Paul Helpful (1) Reply options Link to this post by Macnick, Macnick Nov 6, 2006 9:26 AM in response to PAHU Level 1 (0 points) Nov 6, 2006 9:26 AM in response to PAHU Thanks.
