a few months now. We have a fleet of HP P3015dn's, very good printer,

very stable drivers pushed out via GPO. However, about two months ago one office got hit with this error: PCL pcl xl error konica minolta XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: MissingAttribute Operator: BeginPage Position: 3 From here it's been slowly spreading. It's always the same and what is interesting is that the error is slowly working its way around http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/pcl-xl-error-in-printer/124223ac-bd82-4758-8d7f-7efe95a045cf office to office, printer to printer. Pushing out the Universal PCL5 or a fresh PCL6 driver from the server (WS2K8R2) fixes it, but I'm wondering if anybody else has gotten this problem? I'm trying not to join the Tinfoil Hat Brigade, but it is very virus like in propagation. Couple that with the inability to uninstall the HP drivers (driver in use) manually from a workstation has got https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/937202-pcl-xl-error-missing-attribute me somewhat concerned. May 6, 2015 at 6:20 UTC Have you tried the PS version of the driver? 1 Pimiento OP Brann6908 May 6, 2015 at 6:37 UTC Hi LarryG, Hm, you know, I haven't installed any PS drivers in years. Sometimes, on our Macs, I'll install the PS driver locally for the color printers, but not the HP PS drivers on the server. I'll give it a shot when the next one hits :) Thanks! 1 This discussion has been inactive for over a year. You may get a better answer to your question by starting a new discussion. Now click on any print or fax device to make the sub menu open at the top. Go to Printer Server Properties and then Drivers Tab. Remove the drivers for all the problem printers. Restart the computer. Now go to Devices and Printers, Add Printer, local, existing connection, Next and see the Printer Update button beside Have Disk. Click on Update and allow the update to happen. It takes a while. When done, cancel out and do not add a printer. Restart if it asks you to. Now add one printer as a local printer but do not attempt to print a test page. Once added, connect it to the appropriate printer port on the server. This should work but please let us know. ....
