Glad to help. 0 Message Expert Comment by:Mahendrabr2003-11-17 SOLUTION: Perform the following in the order provided: Try to print using the PCL5e printer driver that came with the HP LaserJet printing system. Unplug the parallel or network data cable from the back of the product. Verify that the product is in Ready Mode. Print a Configuration Report. If the page does not print or garbled characters or symbols appear on the report, have the printer serviced. If the report prints correctly, proceed to the next step. Verify the parallel cable connection. Verify that the parallel cable is IEEE-1284 compliant. Try a different IEEE-1284 cable. Connect the printer directly to the parallel port on the computer. If the printer cannot be directly connected to the computer, try a different network cable or network port on the hub. If applicable, try a different USB cable. I am pcl xl using the HP universal driver, as I couldn't find a another one that would work. I have set upgroup policy to send every printer to each user. It worked in my test environment. However, when I tried to introduce it into my production environment seeminglyevery print jobgives pcl xl error me this error: PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: UnsupportedProtocol Operator: 0x0 Position: 0 I also notice that, on the printer list in Print Management, it shows duplicates which end in (redirected 1) ie STATION118-PRINTER (redirected 1). It even does this to the build in Fax. The client PCs run Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. Does anyone know what causes this, and how to fix it? Help would be greatly appreciated. Why would the driver be an issue if the current driver was working before? 0 Mace OP LarryG. Apr 17, 2014 at 4:34 UTC It's not the same driver. Windows 7 uses different drivers than Windows XP. 0 Datil OP Gregory H Hall Apr 17, 2014 at 4:35 UTC DataGuys is an IT service provider. Sounds like a driver issue on the Windows 7 machines. Are you printing directly to the Kyocera or are you using a print server with a shared printer? I would also try the Universal driver for your model and see if that works. http://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.eu/index/service/dlc.false.driver.FS3920DN._.EN.html Get the one listed Classic KPDL / PCL5
