If you are using Universal Printer Driver (UPD) 4.5, check the fix method from the followingHP support article: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=110&prodSeriesId=503548&prodTypeId=18964&prodSeriesId=503548&objectID=c01639164 ------------------------------ If your situation is other than that, try the following: A PCL XL error can occur when the document that you are trying to print contains

large images that the printer is not able to accommodate in the memory, perhaps due to a mismatched printer setting. It can also occur if you are using an unsupported or embedded font in the document. To solve this issue, try the following instructions 1. Open "Control Panel." 2. Double-click "Devices and Printers" on the Control Panel window that opens in Windows 7/Vista. Double-click "Printers and Faxes" in Windows XP. 3. Right-click the printer icon, then click "Printing Preferences." 4. Click the "Advanced" tab on the "Printing Preferences" dialog box. 5. Click the "+" sign next to "Document Options" to expand it. 6. Click the "+" sign next to "Printer Features." 7. Click the "Print Data Optimization" drop-down box and select "Optimize for Text and Vector." 8. Click "Apply," then choose "OK."Max Meng TechNet Community Support

A user who is running Windows 7 32 bit edition is sending files to print (using the secure print function) - the system is reporting they have spooled fine to the printer - but when they go and release the document they are getting (more often than not) about 16 out of 21 pages (for example) and then a PCL XL http://forum.support.xerox.com/t5/Printing/PCL-XL-Error-and-other-weirdness/td-p/164 Error (Subsystem: Text, InternalError 0x50, Operator: Text, Position: 8564). I have another document that 9 times out of ten will actually crash the WorkCentre completely and cause it to reboot mid way through printing. The driver we are using is the latest: "Xerox WorkCentre 7655 rev 2.0 PCL6"As mentioned the user is running Windows 7 - the printer is shared from a Windows 2003 Server which has the same version of the driver.Any suggestions from anyone?Kind regards,Luke Solved! Everything seems to work (so far) if on the printing preferences advanced tab I set "Advanced Printing Features" to Disabled.Would be nice to know why this causes issues when enabled, especially as by default the driver has it set to enabled when installed! Apr 17, 2014 at 4:31 UTC Do you have a Postscript driver available for Windows 7 for it? If so, try that. 0 Pimiento OP lupeleal Apr 17, 2014 at 4:33 UTC I should have it. Why would the driver be an issue if the current driver was working before? 0 Mace OP LarryG. Apr 17, 2014 at 4:34 UTC It's not the same driver. Windows 7 uses different drivers than Windows XP. 0 Datil OP Gregory H Hall Apr 17, 2014 at 4:35 UTC DataGuys is an IT service provider. Sounds like a driver issue on the Windows 7 machines. Are you printing directly to the Kyocera or are you using a print server with a shared printer? I would also try the Universal driver for your model and see if that works. http://www.kyoceradocumentsolutions.eu/index/service/dlc.false.driver.FS3920DN._.EN.html Get the one listed Classic KPDL / PCL5e/c / PCL6 Universal Driver (certified and signed by Microsoft) Report back your findings 0 Pimiento OP lupeleal Apr 17, 2014 at 4:39
