Comment Filed Under: Gaming Tagged: ps3 A friend of mine purchased a PlayStation 3 and connected it to his wireless Linksys router. Whenever he downloaded updates to games, it would start the download then freeze at dlna protocol error ps3 media server about 32 percent. At other times it would throw an error saying DNLA Protocol ps3 media server dlna error 7531 Error 2101. We could access the PlayStation Store without a problem though. After connecting the PS3 directly to the cable modem, ps3 media server dlna error 2104 the PS3 worked fine. So we then knew the problem had to be with the Linksys router configuration. After checking out the router settings, we figured out that UPnP was enabled. The UPnP feature is

supposed to automatically grant permission to devices to access needed network resources. It doesn't always play well with certain devices though. So we disabled UPnP with these steps: Login to the Linksys router's admin panel. You can usually get there by opening a web browser and going to "http://192.168.1.1" (usually this is the IP address used, but it may be different depending on your configuration) in a web browser. Go to ps3 media server dlna protocol error 2006 "Connectivity" in the left pane. Click the "Administration" tab. Uncheck "UPnP" to disable it. Select "OK", and you're done. If you have a router from a different brand, check the user guide for information on how to disable this feature. Ps3 Media Server Dlna Protocol Error 501
I have a PS3 connected to a LinkStation- for as long as I've had them I've never had any connection issues- the PS3 found

the Linkstation without me having to alter any settings and I was able to view pictures, watch videos and listen to music stored on the Linkstation with no issue- Lately something has happened that is causing that not to work http://www.technipages.com/ps3-dlna-protocol-error-2101-fix any longer. When i reset everything, it does work for about 5 minutes- then I get an error- DLNA protcol erroe 2101 has occurred. It's done this a couple times now and I have no idea how to fix it...In reading some posts online, someone suggested disabling the UpNp setting on my router which I did, but that did not change anything-Like I said I've never really tweaked any settings on the PS3- it always has found the Linkstation with no http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/Support-General/DLNA-Protocol-Error-2101/td-p/36328699 issues or adjustments to settings-Thanks for any input Report FB Tweet G+ Message 1 of 8 (13,014 Views) Reply 0 Likes Bluyus1 First Son Registered: 04/12/2010 Offline 16 posts 09-23-2011 01:20 PM User Info Bluyus1 ADD AS A FRIEND Re: DLNA Protocol Error 2101 Options Mark as New Bookmark Subscribe Subscribe to RSS Feed Highlight Print Email to a Friend Report Sep 23, 2011 OK...I've read some other info online about this and I did recently install TVersity- I'm now wondering if that's the culprit- thoughts? The problem has nothing to do with the PS3 directly, although a change to the DLNA client code in System 3.72 may be the catalyst of the problem. It is either an issue on the LinkStation, or in the network. Probably the LinkStation. The uPnP setting is irrelevant. The LinkStation is on the same network as the PS3, so th

PS3: DLNA Protocol Error (2110) has Occurred HipToday Posts: 18Members https://www.avforums.com/threads/dlna-protocol-error-2101.1073891/ April 2012 in DLNA I'm not sure if this is actually limited to the PS3, but it's the only DLNA client I have. Anyway... When I try to browse the folder of a particular TV show on my PS3 I'm getting the error "Media Server Error: A DLNA protocol error ps3 media (2110) has occurred" followed by "Media Server Error: A DLNA protocol error (2101) has occurred" and instead of the episode list I get "There are no titles." This also affects the "Recently Aired" and "Recently Added" folders due to episodes of the show being included in those lists as well. Looking at the server logs it seems the DLNA server dies and restarts ps3 media server when this happens. The show in question is Conan (as in the talk show on TBS). The only particularly unique thing about this show that I can think of is that when I did the original library scan it matched on Conan, an apparent Conan the Barbarian TV show, I then had to "Fix incorrect match" in Plex Media Manager. I thought originally that perhaps the parentheses in the filenames (e.g. "Conan (2010) - S01E01 - Guest Name Here.avi") might be problematic, but I have other shows named similarly that work fine. The server is v0.9.6.0.11 running on Ubuntu 11.04 and there doesn't seem to be any issue on the other (non-DLNA) clients I've tried (Windows and Android). I've attached what I think are the relevant logs. Any ideas what the deal is with this? It happened before and after I upgraded to PS3 firmware 3.0. I also now have Medialink 2.0A1 but still the same problem. Thanks. I think 2101 is just a timeout due to the helper crashing. You can remove the plugin so MediaLink will at least work, if without thumbnails. Go to the following location, either on your HDD, or from your home directory depending if it's installed for all users or just you: 1. Go to Library/PreferencePanes 2. Right click MediaLink.prefPane, Show Contents 3. Go to Contents/Resources/MediaLinkHelper.app/Contents/PlugIns 4. Remove AlbumArtTranscoder.mltranscoder Hopefully the guys at NullRiver are on top of this and can get it sorted Edit: I should add, the crash only applies to 2.0A1. If you're having this on other versions, you want to check your network configuration, check Utilities - Console, it logs extensively in the alpha and should
