2006 when accessing video from my PC. After reading much and trying various solutions what worked for me was simply disabling and enabling the option of media server under network settings on the PS3. After doing this i now can watch video without the DLNA error 2006, thanks. On my PS3 it takes 30 seconds or more to list the files in a directory, and sometimes just times out with a DLNA 2006 error. I'll try your suggestion, but if I run PS3 Media server I don't have these issues, so it seems like it's a UMS problem not a PS3 problem. Anyway, when I had this problem I found another fix.Go into Network and Sharing center, go to change adapter settings (or whatever you have for adapter settings), open the router, properties, configure, find the advanced tab, go to speed, it should be set to auto, change it to 100 (I changed it to 100 full duplex, I have no idea what the full or half duplex is)And that's it, after I made that ch

Copying to the PS3's hdd works fine, just takes fraking forever. But streaming seems to play about 5-10 seconds, pause for ~5 seconds, and then play another 5-10 seconds. Like it's not properly buffering the stream.Happens with both divx/xvid and h264 (handbrake compressed with ipod high-rez settings).I'm pretty sure it's on the PS3's end (not a big enough buffer for the stream), but hav
your PS3 or Xbox 360 Posted by Robert Green on Thu, 06/07/2007 - 18:18 How-To Gaming media server music ps3 xbox The http://www.rbgrn.net/content/4-how-to-set-media-servers-your-ps3-or-xbox-360 most recent Playstation 3 firmware update (1.80) from Sony not only gave us HDTV owners great new resolution-scaling options, but they slipped in support for media servers as well! I don't run a Media Center PC at home, but found a couple of options for easily setting up a DLNA-compliant media server on my home PC despite the fact. ps3 media PC I've found these two as good options for a PC media server. The first is Microsoft's Windows Media Player 11 and the second is Simplecenter. I went with Simplecenter because I don't have WMP11 installed and after seeing what Simplecenter could do, I definitely thought it was the better option. Both of these set up guides require ps3 media server that you already have your Playstation 3 connected to your home network as well as your PC. Sony's help for network configuration is here Using Windows Media Player 11 as the server Open Windows Media Player 11 From the toolbar, select Library then Media Sharing Check "Share my media" On the PS3 - Under Video, Photos or Music, select "Scan for media server" Go back to the PC, and you should see a pop up showing an unknown device trying to connect. Allow the device, and everything should work. Using Simplecenter as the server Download Simplecenter from http://www.simplecenter.com/ Install - If you only want the basic version, just click next when it asks you to create an account. Select your shared media folders and let it scan. Click next one last time. Check your PS3 and your media server should now be visible. Other Windows Notes I've heard that many people are using Nero MediaHome and consider it to be the most feature-rich server Mac We recently tried setting up my roommate's macbook
