Occasionally though it can be caused by windows media player losing sync with device. If the latter is the case you just need to resync it. An even less likely culprit is the firewall. Some people will tell you to turn it off but this is NOT necessary. Just check it make sure sharing is properly enabled. share|improve this answer answered May 5 '11 at 17:21 Blomkvist 2,1491918 How would I go about resyncing it? The new movies are in the same folder as the old movies and the old movies play fine....its just the new movies that don't. –Paul May 5 '11 at 17:24 Click on your library tab and then click on sync.you should then see an icon in the box that says "unknown device". Click on it and allow the connection. More troubling though is that the old movies STILL play. –Blomkvist May 5 '11 at 17:28 Where is the library tab? Is it on the computer or on the playstation? –Paul May 5 '11 at 18:11 It's in media player on your PC. –Blomkvist May 5 '11 at 18:13 I don't

PS3 via a very fast wireless connection. Then suddenly, just recently despite not changing anything I can think of whenever I try to view a movie file on my PS3 via Tversity I get a black screen for about 30 seconds and then "A Media Server Error has Occured, Network Error (000000)" This is with two different computers (one Windows 7, one Vista) with movie files that have previously worked. I have tried just about everything. I've triple checked the network and sharing settings on my PC's.I've turned transcoding to off, auto and always.I've checked all the wires.I've turned my routers off and on.I've enabled and disabled the media server on the PS3.I've reinstalled my codecs.I've even tried installing PS3 Media Server which gets the same problem - the only weird thing is it manages to play .MKV files but not any of my other files (mostly AVI's) Anyone have any more advice? So weird that out of the blue it just stops working. mikepaul 2010-10-17 12:48:36 UTC #2 Does PlayOn handle the videos correctly?... mikepaul 2010-10-07 12:50:29 UTC #3 http://www.google.com/search?q=Network+Error+000000 brings back at least one successful fix for the problem, so see if that works for you... http://boardsus.playstation.com/t5/Play ... p/41683021 JustPyro 2010-10-17 09:27:42 UTC #4 I am also having this problem. However, I can connect to the internet, and I can stream videos via WMP streaming. I'm wired into the router, and I can see (some) files, but can't actually play them. JustPyro 2010-10-17 10:21:27 UTC #5 PS - I tried the fix listed and that didn't help. I can view pictures through TVersity, I just get the network error when streaming. I should also note I (somehow) was able to have TVersity stream to my PS3 before a reformat. So my router and forwarding rules are correct. I also cannot play files from my PC when connecting via browser to TVersity. I can see the files, but when I attempt to play, I get 404 errors. dannyoj 2011-04-03 20:43:53 UTC #6 Hi, Been struggling with this error for a few days. Tried various things, but in the end I simply deleted all the folders i'd added into Tversity
