I don't have payroll installed http://payroll.intuit.com/support/kb/1000096.html and the instructions haven't changed anything.I had another go today but have got no further. Can anybody assist on how I can clear this error code, please? When you next open it, if there are any updates to install, it will prompt you then. But you ran the manual update patch, so I think this ship has sailed. Was this answer helpful? IT is not, after all, in the essential updates section. Perhaps when there are more new features then it will patch properly. Any thoughts? Starting about 5 weeks ago I can't get the pay employee part of QB to calculate and deduct federal tax withholding, social security or Medicare tax. QB won't let me download and install any payroll updates. If I try to update QB it hangs up and becomes unresponsive. It gives me a message: Error 15270: The payroll update did not complete successfully. The update is missing a file. I tried what the QB site suggested as a fix and that did not resolve the problem. Has anyone else had this problem. I'm brand new on this forum so sorry in advance if this has been discussed previously. T.
