This helps determine which card reader you may have and whether there is a known problem with that model. –roa

By the way, the green light seems to blink in a http://askubuntu.com/questions/256866/mmc0-error-110-whilst-initialising-sd-card 4-pattern, indicating loader.bin not launched, but loader. bin isn't included in the installation I did (i.e., writing the image didn't put that file on my card), and various pages I've looked at indicate that this file is no longer necessary. But you did the right thing dropping the link into another post the other option https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=27470 is to reply to your own post so it bumps back to the top of the list the forum has such a high turnover. It is not good news yet because I'm a Windows Linux kind of guy but with a little bit of nudging I'm sure there will be Mac people here soon. Hi all, I'm getting when I connect my sd card: mmc0: error -123 whilst initialising SD card Does anybody knows what this error means or where can i find an error list with number and description? Thanks in advance. TheSergon13 2010-04-07 01:18:45 Did you already tried with another SD card to check if there's something wrong with your card? What's it's capacity? Best Regards, Sérgio eduardo 2010-04-07 13:15:50 Hi Sérgio, Thanks for your response. I checked the SD card and it's all ok. I tested with 2 Kingston SD cards of 2GB on micro 2440. The problem happens when I use my own connector (out of micro 2440 board). Maybe I'm missing something (some pin or something like that). An error description for -123 error could be a start to solve this issue. Regards davef 2010-04-07 13:29:38 When you insert the SD card in the original slot you get a sdcard directory showing up in your file system? IE hotpugging working. Then the same with the socket you have wired up? TheSergon13 2010-04-08 03:11:52 This is just a shot in the dark: Card readers have a maximum capacity that can read. Maybe your adapter doesn't support 2GB or above. And the adapter works on your PC? Sérgio eduardo 2010-04-08 14:38:19 Hi guys, Thanks for your responses!! I found a solution, in fact it was a very very silly error. I wasn't connecting EINT16 pin to nCd on my adapter, which is responsible to detect when SD card is inserted Regards and thanks for the help.
